Russia is a part of Europe geographically. The dividing line between Europe and Asia is the Ural Mountains, which basically splits Russia in half. People may not consider Russia part of Europe politically, but Israel plays in European Qualifiers, as do Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia... Greenland is still a part of Denmark, and its football team draws players from there (well, just Jesper Gronkjaer) despite it basically being in North America. Australia is now playing in the Asian federation.

If you look at the map of the World's football federations, Israel should be a part of the Asian federation, but it would be difficult as many Muslim countries don't recognise the state of Israel and therefore wouldn't allow it players in on Israeli passports. I hope to fuck Joe doesn't get involved in this but I doubt he'd lower himself and look at The Sports forum.

    Germany - Champs

    Top Goalscorer - Klose

Let Down - Italy to fall at the group stage

Surprise Package - Croatia, although everyone has said them so im not sure whether they constitute a surprise if not Switzerland

Player of the tournament - Ballack.

Interesting fact about Jesper Gronkaer, i didn't know that, do you think if a player from the Falkland Islands was good enough he would be able to play for a British team?

Faroe Islands is an non-sovereign province of Denmark (a bit like what England, Wales etc are to the UK), so I'm assuming any good players would go play for Denmark if they wanted to. Just like if you were born outside of the UK, but are a British Citizen, you can play for any of the 'home' countries.

I'm heading down to Zurich in a couple of weeks for the France-Italy game. Not got tickets, but wouldn't be bothered about going to the game anyway, just gonna hang out in the Fan Parks down by the lake :drunk: :cool2:

Was in Zurich the other week, its well nice. Totally decked out for the euros too, flags everywhere, tourist tat in every shop. The amount of jaw-droppingly nice cars there is unreal too. Cool city all round really.

Ha ha, a lot of the tat will of come from me.

I'm going to the final in Vienna, the marketing agency I work for has been doing the merchandise for the tournament, and as I've worked on the account, free ticket..

Fly to Bratislava on Sat 28th, train to Vienna, spend the day in the fan zones, then the final on the Sunday night.

Not cost me a single penny for the whole trip.

Big one is Greenland, small one is Western Sahara.

Western Sahara (ex Spanish colony) is still fighting to be recognised as a country. Morocco controls it today, and there is a little bit of violence between freedom fighters and Moroccan troops. Hardly anyone lives there though, so no one gives a shit.
