without wanting to sound like a broken record, we've explored this 'powerhouse' route with regards to using the whole building and the powers that be that run the power house are not interested in moving the 'gay' night , which essentially means no one can have probably the best room in the place incl that room you refer to

the loft aint so bad a venue, especially the terrace

i think the loft is a great venue!
    sound system is top notch
    good lighting
terrace is fantastic especially when it's hot like it was on saturday.
sick of hearing people say they're not going 'cos it's in the "gay bit".
    so fuck!
it's a club! it's one of the few that will let you have a night like that.
if we'd done the same night anywhere else than newcastle it would have been rammed.
once again let down again by the northeast.
we won't be doing another hard-hardstyle night here.
obviously newcastle isn't ready for something new (again).

was offered the loft back in december 2007 and the main over -riding reason we chose not to go with it is that I could never see people overcoming their narrow minded view of partying right bang smack in the gay quarter, irrespective of how good lineups are.

having said that mark eg , immense booking, but i think cybernetix taking place along at the end last saturday too, may have poached 100 or so of the usual crowd thatwould come out to play for mark eg / judgement day etc...

anyway in the uni i reckon you have a much more viable venue option, I reckon uni will be chocka

marg eg is immense and has a huge following but 150 people turning up on a saturday night is pretty poor even for narrow minded newcastle.

yeah uni will be chocka and we'll just see how the hsu room goes.
i'd like to be booking big names in that room but need to see if the northeast ravers go for hardstyle the way the rest of the world has.
i'm certainly not banking on getting any of the snobby hardhouse types to come to a rave event to see hardstyle dj's no matter who i booked.
    too un-cool!
