    Founded by sonically obsessed Brooklyn jock Angel Moraes and now owned by Def Mix’s David Morales, it’s hardly surprising that Stereo is basically a DJ’s wet dream — thanks almost entirely to its immense custom-built soundsystem.

    A consuming detail-perfect analogue system, Stereo’s innumerable speaker stacks have been reverberating emphatically to the sounds of John Digweed, Danny Howells and Lee Burridge over the year past, with an eclectic mélange of drag queens, club kids, students, hippies and fashionistas getting down.

    “No great décor, no big VIP area, not even amazing lights,” lends Hernan Cattaneo. “But the biggest and best sound you can humanly imagine.”

    sound is good. its a right dump though. the sister club sonic in toronto was better but that shut late last year which was a shame

    canot believe barfly is in there lol. its a proper shit tip right in the middle of liverpool. haha. had a mint time when i was there tho but it doesnt look as if it has been renovated since the 70's and it looks like an old community centre lol.
