    DJ Desk Design

I just thought i would post up the designs for a deck desk for the house which has been designed for me by one of my friends who works for a furniture designers in Newcastle.

I was wondering what people thought of the design and if they had any ideas for improvements and if this was something they could see themselves buying?

    Pictures below.

    Cheers
    Pete

i like it, but i would put doors on the front & i would want the top to stick out further at the front than the rest, so i didn't catch my toes on it while i was mixing if that makes sense

i like mine, except i think mine would look better with doors on the front

here's mine - except my laptops there instead of the tft. and i think there's a pile of clothes on the right hand deck. There's still an ongoing arguement about whether it's the 'deck' room or 'laundry' room. however, even the mother inlaw calls it the deck room - so i win

Looks cool with the lights. Im considering having doors put on it, the bottom section where you would stand has no floor so you wouldnt catch your toes on it.

It is quite complex i suppose but the idea behind it is to make the most of a small space. I dont have much space in my flat and so having my decks permanently setup on a normal desk would waste space whereas because of the lid i can put stuff on top if needs be and it keeps them protected. Each of the sections in the desk are obviously designed to store records in.

Im trying to find out as much as anything if there are people out there who would like something similar or whether this is a one off for me? my mate who runs the furniture makers is thinking about continuing it as a line of product and im not sure if there is a market for it or not.

maybe 8 years ago when vinyel decks and large amounts of vinyl was popular, now i'm not sure. check out ebay - lots of people do it.
