    Im torn between getting a wii and a ps3.

    Has anyone played on both? Which do you prefer??

    Wii seems to be sold out everywhere....

    Wii is good for a laugh, was playing one last night, games arepretty basic as are meant to be interactive, graphics and games on a ps3 are really good, a would get a ps3 myself but Wii's are good if you have visitors alot or afterparties

    The Wii is fkn class like, when i get back from Goa i will get a couple more games cos some look totally mint.

    I will be happy with Wii Sports at the min cos Mario Mario Party 8 which am selling is fucking dink.

    When i first got one on Xmas Eve 06 i decided to sell it ASAP then stupidly didnt make alot of money on it cos there was that many on when i put it on ebay, they at the time didnt come with them protectors for the controllers.

    Now when i get one they have them cases for the controllers and the more i play on it i know why :lol:

    I was proper into the boxing the other night and at times thought fucking hell what if i clip the TV here.

    If i had any gripes with Wii Sport why cant u play tennis 1 player V another 1 player?

    Its always doubles isnt it, i cant afford another tennis game at the moment or else id probs be able to.

    Get a Wii and and a 360 for the price of a PS3, still not worth buying a PS3 as theres still not much game choice

    not much choice of games for ps3 at the mo (exclusives like haze and grand turismo 5 will be rather special tho) and the online gaming is starting to shape up now. alot of people say the ps3 is expensive but to be honest when you take into account all of its features built in its not and its only using 30 percent of its power for the games at the mo. If you wanna go wireless with a 360 it'll cost you over 60 quid or so and if u wanna watch HD films it'll cost you an extra 100.

    The question is whether you want a pure gaming machine or a box that does everything.

    If you want gaming, go for a wii, the 360 and PS3 can't touch it for interaction.

    I doubt many people are comitting to blu-ray or hd dvd until the dust settles and people decide which one they want. I also think the sony/microsoft strategy of "more graphics power equals better console and games" is completely wrong. Good graphics don't equal good games, ask your PC owners if you want proof, theres tons of examples there of great graphics and shit gameplay.

    As for building HD video playback into both, the manufacturers seem to have forgotten that sometimes people want to play games and its not about the extras bolted on. Consoles with upgradeable / removable hard drives and expansion slots (USB)? Whats the point in that (aside from having extra controllers or linking consoles together that is)? If I wanted USB and hard drives I'd get a PC!

    Sometimes a console should be a console. I can see what Sony/Microsoft are wanting to do and I do believe fewer boxes under our tellys that can do more than the current ones is a good thing, but they'll only be of any good if they're user friendly and very cleverly built, and I think both fall way short of the mark.

    I agree there mate but having an all round high definition hub for such a low price is a good thing i think. Thats why i went with the ps3, wanted to get my lass a wii for xmas but she wouldnt have it lol.

    Thing is, the low price will come in eventually when the hardware becomes more prevalent (like the introduction of DVD, CD, VHS, tape and so on).

    The future lies in a convergence box - a single device that can record your telly, play your hidef films, play your games, synchronize your ipod/camera/mp3 player/hard drive, and let you browse the net and talk to mates, and most of all, be user friendly. I feel sony and microsoft have hit well wide of the mark of this and focused too much on hardware in the wrong areas (multi core CPUs etc). Hardware performance isn't the be all and end all, especially when the PC stuff will leave both looking completely outclassed in six months time anyway.
