This forum has more cluless dickheads then any forum i promote on.

All there interested in is winding poeple up,or making points that make no sense.

Mista K is asking me to his respect opion that he has that is based no experience or knowledge on a subject then when i don't he is comparing me to muslim extremist the kid really needs to get a grip.

Its like saying all thai food is shit, then someone saying have you had green curry its really nice, you saying no but it does't matter its still shit and if disagree with me your muslim extremist.

Where does this kid get his logic from.

909, if mistak and peter have no clue what they're talking about, why are you taking their opinions as an affront to everything you listen to?

The opinions of two people who don't know the music that well is hardly constructive or substantial criticism, therefore it holds little in the way of meaning, yes?

I think you're taking this a tad too personally (and seriously).

Thing is i was only joking to start with lol

But my opinion on alot of oldscool dance is it's not for me, not saying the music is rubbish but it's probably more down to my age, alot of oldschool productions sound really dated because they were produced years ago, people who were into them at the time will obviously think differently, but i got into dance through trance, which has alot clearer production than alot of old tracks.

I'm totally different with rock music though and prefer oldschool production techniques, but that's the way i am.

No doubt one of youse will take that totally the wrong way and twist it so that it sounds like im saying trance is superior which i'm not.

I care because i dj and co- promote (EnergyFlash) which plays the music in question.

So have an interest and passion in the subject matter.

If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything.

Not sure why people are getting on Jimmy 606 case, he can be a bit arsey at times. The lad is out there putting nights on & he really cares about his music, show him a little bit of respect man.

i do, dont get me wrong on that one.

its just the whole "here man, you have to like it - but if ya dont ya have to have listend to it and been there" attitude that i didnt like. it isnt really a serious argument anyway.

i can see strange parralells with james and melt in a way. or it might be that i'm arguing with an old-skool promotor type person. who knows.

I didn't like this thread, so I made my own <here>

anyone from this thread attempting to argue that dance music in the olden days was shite is welcome to go across and have a listen, but please come back to this thread to argue - I've invoked a no arguing rule on the other thread;)

My opinion for what it's worth... a lot of the early tunes really are absolute classics that stand the test of time (though the production and pressing on some of them was a bit ropey), and my last few hours spent sniffing around you tube has reminded me just how many shit hot old tunes there are. Obviously there are some pretty ropey ones too, and I'd put a fair amount of the old rave stuff in that category to be honest.

I think there's probably as much good dance music about these days as there ever has been, but I'm not sure there's as many absolute stand out tunes that would make the hair on the back of your neck stand up etc been made this decade as in either the 80's or 90's... but maybe I'm just getting old eh
