Crysis Demo.... Time for an upgrade. Download here.. Detected Optimal settings on mine as medium at 1024. Smooth as fuck. Upped all the settings to high on 1024.. still playable. Upped res to 1280x1024.. a little stuttery. Upped res to 1600x1200 and its virtually unplayable. All without AA Just gotta wait till feb for a new build tho. Currently runing -> Opty170 @ 2.5Ghz (Dual Core) 2GB Crucial Ballistix @ DDR500 256MB 7900GS. In Feb I'm getting -> Intel Q9450 (Quad Core @ 2.66 w/12MB Cache!) 4GB PC8500 Not sure bout gfx yet.. possibly 8800GT/GTS. Then... I'll play this.. lol. GL and HF!
Why not hold back on the 4gb ram, and go for a lower spec than the 9450, then get a GTX instead of a GTS, as it is better at higher resolutions? thats what i would do . Ive got an 8800gts, and its smooth, but there is still room for more at my 22" native res.
I've heard heavy reports that this will require 4GB of ram to run smooth at higher resolutions. Plus.. I can only run up to 1600 x 1200 atm so it would kinda be a waste gettin a gtx/ultra card. The reason for a 9450 is cos its the lowest spec quad with 12MB Cache..
here right, your all tekky bastards! i'm upgrading - and without a shadow of a doubt i'll get it wrong.... grrrr
When do you two get time to play any games when you have to do all this learning about graphics cards and motherboards?
Re: Crysis Demo.... Gig ov Ram (the old G.O.R) 1.somethingGhz Processor (CBA with names and makes) GFX.... ...GeForceMX 420 64MB and i've managed to get this far until fucking valve bring out a new fucking mini add on game to CS. the Utter cunts. i knew cell shading would be impossible with my current spec.
Pretty mad that, what sort of spec would you need to be running this at its best and how much would it cost?
id say 600 quid would get you running it pretty well, but for mint fps on top resolution i would wait for some new hardware to come out
i can get 1920 x 1080 high spec to run quite smooth in the crysis multiplayer beta 3, can sometimes trip up a bit and thats with a vista computer full of shite. im running a duo 2 e6600 @ 3.2 and an overclocked bfg 8800gts gu is at 600 and memory is at 900. got 2 gig of dual channel ddr2 from overclcokers platinum running at 800 i think i could do with installing my sound card to take the burden of 5.1 away from the cpu and motherboard but cba. the gfz card has met its match like. visually the most impressive game ive ever seen, the water effects are shit hot and the foliage is class, even more so when you can interact with it. ive no doubt once i get the singleplayer fired up everything will look much better....but much more slower, ill definately have to drop it to about 1280x1024, i aint bothered with aa like, but could do with a bit for a smoother finish
