    HABIT - JAMES HOLDEN & FAIRMONT LIVE - 2/11/07 - Cosmic B

Habit is very proud to present a BORDER COMMUNITY showcase featuring the eagerly anticipated return of the label boss alongside a highly talented producer from Canada, celebrating his new artist album.

    JAMES HOLDEN

The word ground-breaking is banded around far too freely in dance-music these days, but one artist that can genuinely stake claim to this high praise is surely James Holden.

Over the years, Holden has evolved into a pioneer and visionary for his music. From his early trance prodigy days at Oxford, he has morphed into a highly respected serious global artist. He has a built a reputation for consistently raising the bar in the production stakes, consistently creating beautiful and futuristic tracks and equally stunning remixes.

His DJ sets continue to push and explore boundaries, creating a unique soundscape of experimental, electronica, house, and techno.

Holden’s Border Community label continues to eschew boundaries of electronic music by tapping into the distinctive sounds of today’s producers and by creating a creative family of forward thinking artists such as Nathan Fake, Petter and Fairmont.

    FAIRMONT - LIVE

    Coloured In Memory Album Tour

From 2001 until 2005, Canadian techno producer Jake Fairley’s alter ego Fairmont remained an elusive side project. Nonetheless, the project developed a loyal cult following and received critical acclaim for bringing its understated romance and subtlety to the techno format. After dropping out almost completely for 2003 and 2004, Jake’s sensitive pseudonym came back with a slightly stronger kick and an even stronger sense of melody in 2005. When Gazebo/Gazelle was released on the popular English label Border Community in December, it became and instant hit-classic and made sure every techno fan knew the Fairmont name. Following this, Jake began to play much more often as his softer-self and has gotten a great response to this very different show. Fairmont live as a blend of deep beats and sweeping melodies, a danceable sonic delight.

Over the moon about this one.

We have been trying to get James to the Cosmic Ballroom for a while now. When he played at the Other Rooms the sound was pretty awful to be honest and it did just not do him justice at all, so its great to have him back on a good system.

Really looking forward to seeing Fairmont as well. His live show is supposed to be wicked.

from the tour press release it sounds like holden may play quite experimental for the first set.

    really excited about it.

From what I have heard of Fairmont's new album - Coloured in Memory, it is awesome.

found out the club will have a couple of power strobes in as well by then :groovy:
