    Thompson FLy/cheap flights

does anyone know why the prices change from day to day? Im trying to book some flights, one day they were £7, next they were £42, 3 hours ago they were £14, now they are £35 lol

IM SO CONFUSED! How do these things work? Im on hold to the operator now, coz i dont understand whats going on!!

they only have a limited number of seats to sell at cheap prices

the more activity that checks how much flights are normally entails in the pirces going up and down as the airline think that it well sell them regardless

    :)

the more you check on the same flights, times, dates etc the company has a database that records the fact that you are looking and when so much interest is shown they will hike the prices up until no interest is shown for that flight.

That's absolute bollocks. and highly illegal. I used to work for British Airways so know how fares work. You have fare bands, the airline has a caertian number of seats in each, the fare bands usually have different flexibility rules. 99 per cent of airlines allow provisional booking, usually 48-72 hours. When these are up the fares are released back into the system so the lowest fare goes down. Once those are booked/put on hold the price goes up. It can be a bit hit and miss, the best way to ensure the best price is to book early when you're guaranteed the lower prices being there.

    well no then?

the woman I rang said it was demand and the seats are in price brackets, when the flight/seat gets searched for lots it makes it seem as though there is loads of demand, so the prices go up.
