Other than Detox is a rave some dj play oldschool and Rez was a rave the not really like each other at all.

Rez was a rave night that used to be at the mayfair in newcastle.
It them moved to The 5000 capacity, Royal Highland showground in Edinbrough.

    Guest's included Carl Cox, Grooverider,Dj Rap, Moby,The Prodigy,Joey Beltram,Frank De wolf, Frankie Bones,Derrick May,
DJ SS,Dream Frequency,Eddie Richards as well as in the later years loads of Gabber. Then towards the end happy hardcore which was the death of it.

Great in its day when it played cutting edge Rave,Techno,Jungle and Gabber a bit shit when the Happyhardcore ruined the crowd and the music variety. IMO.

    Add to the list Jeff mills,Laurent Garnier,kenny Larkin,Lenny Dee,The Producer,GTO,Dye Witness.

The line-ups were pretty sick for over 12 years ago.

I also have every flyer from toon/scotland if you want scans and a few duplicates.

    Totally agree m8!

We had a barrier dance sorted for visiting Edinburgh, as a pal danced on stage.. Until a milking machine fell on him, but thats a different story :)

Scots took to it, but the HHcore crowd didnt get it! The event 2 put me of going up there again, poor dodgy crowd and fooked speakers!

I sold some of the bookmark ones for a decent price not long ago on ebay. It would be a waste selling a collection, cos as you say they dont go for what they're worth. I admit i dont have Rez1 from the toon tho... hint hint... :)

You HAVE to scan yer ID man!

The mixing was often sheite tbh, like Guy trying in vain to get Die Witness to fit into a set for about 6 tracks, but that wasnt the be all, being there was enough :)

I always thought the crowd was kinda alright at the ones I went to.

Not great as all you had were complete chavs but thats all you could expect back then lol. Everyone always seemed friendly enough though, there was always a few arseholes like!

Newcastle crowd was always 110% mint! Did feel uneasy a few times in scotland, but didnt really give a hoot at the time :)

Best night I had at one was probably, and unfortunately the last one at the mayfair. heady mix of Snowballs and Double Barrels and a well decent crowd :) RIP Mayfair

Went to about eight in scotland, there were some right dodgy hibs lads about which combined with the Happy Hardcore killed it for me.

There were some great poeple as well, Can remember some paying for the AA to come out and start our car when it would not start after the allnighter.

I stopped going when i was 19 and went to my first when i was 16. The newcastle lot were always a laugh had some funny nights and listern to some really good music along the way.

The mixing thing never really bothered (to be honest doesn't now)me as it was an experience and the set up was never the best but the crowd and atmosphere combined with how good the oldschool used to be was amazing.

Still get chills thinking of Dj SS playing Bass Selective Blow out part 2 and Hearing The House Crew We are Hardcore.

All my flyers are in a shoe box put away now and i have lost my white Rez hat still got loads of tapes though.
