you can almost hear the convo between lee clatterdole and david vaughan..."here i am, stuck in the middle with you"...

to be fair, is there a better place to be if you're a nazi (he's not), that in a dugout?

as for the stay classy (and i know you've got copied another person's tweet), there's been no mention at all on this board, of the carry on down wigan the other week..200-300 ruining some non league games and up until last week, 400quid was the massive total (reportedly) that'd been donated to reinbursing the teams whose games had been ruined..

    Let me educate you FOOLS.

Hitler took the Nazi salute from the Romans. Yeah, that's where Paulo was born and is the king off. Feeling foolish yet? No? Then ill continue.
Fascist dosnt mean Nazi. Its got nothing to do with being a Nazi, its linked to Hitler. That's all. Its like saying a Dog lover or a Artist (Hitler both) is a Nazi. FOOLS.

Uneducated, Ignorant & hypocritical. This week has shocked me. The Uneducated part the most. People just don't have a fucking clue. Every country in Europe was ruled by Fascists at one point. Its a political style of rule.

And all you Skunks. Havent you have a team of Criminals lately? Violent thugs jailed for stamping on heads captaining you're side? And you blow off about a mans political views that your too thick to understand?

In my world a convicted criminal is a lot worse than a simple political view, but hey. Maybe I am crazy too

Yep it was a cut and paste job and you are 100% correct about what you say. The fans at that Wigan game were an absolute disgrace, no excuses possible. They should all be locked up

You are a total retard. Nazism is a type of fascism. Just because the salute came from Rome doesn't mean its not linked with fascists or Nazis and we both know which way he meant it so stop fooling yourself you reprobate

Fascist but not a racist, ah thats ok then.
The problem is that fascism without racism is a bit like wife beating without sexism – one is very much intrinsic to the other. Fascism is not comparable to being “a bit right-wing” like Jeremy Clarkson or Norman Tebbit. Fascism is an ideology based on ultra-nationalism which slips into racial chauvinism and bigotry like a hot knife moves through butter.
I have no idea whether or not Paulo Di Canio is a racist, just as I have no clue whether everyone who waddles through Trafalgar Square on May Day with a giant portrait of Stalin believes in the necessity of the Gulag or a bullet to the back of the head. I would, however, hesitate to put such people in positions where they have authority over people who their political heroes regarded as expendable.
The answer appears to be that if one says the magic word “football” everything is fine. Cheating is fine; homophobia is fine; kicking a person in the head is fine; appointing a self-proclaimed fascist who thinks Mussolini a “deeply principled individual” is fine. Each and every criticism of the above is “politics”, and therefore does not apply to Soccer Ball.

Hilarious when people think they know what they are taking about but havent got a clue.

The tattoo on Di Canio's back of Mussolini. The fact that he spoke out in support of Mussolini.

The Italians, who in WW2, were part of the Axis = makes them fascist by association, if nothing else.

The pictures of him attending a funeral of a known extremist and member of the Italian fascist party - ONLY 3 YEARS AGO

    This education enough for you?

Al-Queda and suicide bombers have "simple political views" but are not convicted criminals. So who is worse then....?

But I agree with George, this is "soccerball" and not politics. It's a pity that politics has reared it's head into this.

I don't care about his background or whatever as it has nothing to do with football.

All i'm doing here is pointing out a few facts that Congay, as per, has completely glossed over to suit his argument.

    1) Theres nothing illegal or wrong about being a fascist. (who are you or I to say) Its a political style of rule and was a voteable party until ww2
    2) Theres no shame in supporting Mussolini. Mussolini is very different to Hitler. You'r being almost racist by saying that.
    3) Fascist by assoc.? This dosnt make sense Ill take it you made a boo boo and meant to say "Racist" by assoc. Your as bad at the Sunderland Press Officer.
    4) So WHAT if he went to a funeral of a facist? Like I said the Facist party is a political style of rule. I am pretty sure can still vote them into election in some countrys.
    5) His salute was too the Ultras, Its a roman salute you ignorant little man. He bleeds rome and drinks with the Ultras. Go watch any old Roman movie and see the Romans saying "Hail Ceaser" arm aloft etc.
    6) Al-Queda and suicide bombers ??? This is too stupid to reply too.

Correct, but you cant tar all Ultras with the same brush, he was saluting the Irriducibili (Lazio's main firm that hold the Curva Nord end of the Stadio Olympico)that have long been associated with far right politics and a wide range of banners are often unveiled on the Curva Nord end of the ground.
Banners such as support for Arkan, the Serbian war criminal and also banners about Auschwitz the Nazi concentration camps have been paraded before matches. This at times has fed on to the players such as Paulo Di Canio who famously celebrated a goal by running to the crowd and giving the Irriducibili a fascist salute after scoring during the Rome derby. The right hand raised in the air in a straight-armed Roman salute was a symbol of Italy's former fascist dictator Benito Mussolini. The former leader himself was a big Lazio fan and often went to matches.

I never said it was illegal or wrong...

Both fascists, so not THAT different...

I'm 1/2 Italian, so not sure how i'm being racist...

see S.E.C.T.'s point above - the Nazi's were fascists, and the fact that the Italians were part of their Axis made them fascists by association, if they weren't fascist already...

    who killed 85 people, allegedly...

    see S.E.C.T.'s point above again...

YOU said that convicted criminals are worse than people with simple political views. The Al-Queda are people with simple political views..

FFS, I didnt say they were Nazi's, I said they were fascists, which they were. Like SECT said, Nazi-ism is a type of fascism. There are several types.

Or do you disagree with that???? Are you saying Nazi's weren't fascists???? Are you saying Mussolini, at the time was not a fascist??????

Nazism, or National Socialism (German: Nationalsozialismus) in full, was the ideology of the Nazi Party in Germany and related movements outside Germany.[1][2][3][4][5] It is a variety of fascism

And i'm fairly sure the Axis all shared the same beliefs (obviously not all to the same extreme as the Nazi's), or they wouldn't have all been on the same "side"

    Here endeth the lesson

In that they signed a non-aggression pact with the Nazi government? I'd hardly call that a part, more like "I'm agreeing not to fight you".

Hitler had declared an interest in invading them right back in 1939 before the outbreak of war.

"Everything I undertake is directed against the Russians. If the West is too stupid and blind to grasp this, then I shall be compelled to come to an agreement with the Russians, beat the West and then after their defeat turn against the Soviet Union with all my forces."

The hardline Nazis considered the Russians to be untermenschen (subhuman).
