Redknapp wants to feck off like - funny when he didn't want Chelsea talking about Modric, but he's ok to talk about one of our players. Personally I think it's either a rogue agent stirring things up (apparently there were loads of agents sniffing around when we were trying to get him from West Ham) or it's a relegation type clause. Ba won't leave this Jan and we'll renegotiate his contract over summer. It won't be as simple as fat 'arry / the press are making out. Re: Carroll - no one forced him to leave, he had the option of staying, if he REALLY wanted to stay and it wasn't about money he would have. Long-term, I think we'll be proved right by getting rid. He was a surprise to everyone when we first got promoted, but I think he's been found out now. To me it shows a flaw in Dalglish's management 'ability' - why pay £35m for a player and not play to his strengths???? It's not purely down to Gerrard being injured. They have other players who can put crosses in, Downing for example. Just because the Carroll money hasn't been put into buying new players doesn't mean it still isn't in the club. It will have been used to reduce debt / help pay overheads / wage budget, etc. The chairman / owner can't just 'pocket' the money, there are business laws against that sort of thing. I'd rather actually still have a football club, a club ran within it's means and progressing well in the league than go back to the Shepherd days that nearly left the club broke.
The problem is that Ashley didn't really clear the club's debt, he issued a personal loan to the club which it used to pay off it's creditors (estimated to be around the £100m mark). So now, instead of owing banks that money, it's now owed to Ashley instead. I'd imagine it'd be fairly easy for him to write the Carroll money off as a partial repayment of said loan.
Aye that's fair enough, but it is still benefiting the club long-term yes? Plus, another point about the Ba 'clause', I very much doubt that Ashley would agree to something that would be of so little financial benefit to the club.
We signed Ba for very little, if Ashley makes £10m+ out of him after less than 12 months, it would be a coup from a financial perspective. If Ashley pockets all of the money from the sale as well, it means the club will owe him just over £50m, and he has half of his loan repaid. I suppose it all really depends on whether Ashley is thinking of the club's long term future or getting his money back...
If there is such a clause, apparently they are all now saying it's around the £5m mark, which would represent bad business from nufc viewpoint, which wouldn't be a coup from a financial perspective
One thing tho, if there was such a 'clause' and you knew about it, why would you tell everyone / the press etc? Would you not keep it to yourself and try to exploit it, and not let other teams / managers know? It was reported in a paper that he had said this, but no one knows if he actually did say it. I reckon it's all bollox.
For me you can't look at the AC deal in isolation you have to take the Torres deal into consideration & read the quotes knocking around from the owner saying they wanted AC & to be £15 million up on selling Torres. Loads of shenanigans went on during the day such as AC asking for a new contract once the £25 million bid got knocked back. Pards/Llambias saying he would get him new deal then saying then saying no later on & if you want to go its up to you.

Carroll back to Newcastle will not happen. Too much water under the bridge now. Ba has said on Twitter that the fella spreading all these rumours about him isn't his agent and has no connection with him whatsoever
If he was you would be weirdly tweeting him as if you knew him like you do to all the players #stalker
Carroll's agent and Lamb-liars have both came out and said no official contact at all between player and Club.
i reckon pike is more likely to have gobbled off a sunderland player than shortee getting it on with a toon striker
