What's scary is how powerless the fans have become?

He's basically erased a 150 year old name/city tradition in the blink of an eye with absolutely no confrontation.

Its only a name - all the other clubs are doing it, sounds like an easy way to make money to me. Everyone will still call it St James Park really so its money for nothing

Because he's done it overnight with little or no warning.

Watch the backlash from today onwards ;)

I think Big Mike is doing a stirling job.

    Well done that man.

So the £10million raised from the re-naming of the 'stadium' will be going towards players, because that's what the fans want.

    Sounds very familiar...

It makes perfect financial sense, but to then throw in the idea of more signings to appease the fans is poor, but at the same time, many fans will take to this. A ten million pound player/s each year is standard now in the premier league for mid-table teams - you can not relate the income from the name change to a new signing, especially going on past experience of spending money on players

You mentioned not long ago that Newcastle fans were not kicking up fuss over issues.

Everything they say is lies, no money will be raised and no new sponsor will come in, it'll be SDA until MA has fucked off out of town. Pretty confident next years shirt sponsor will be Sports Direct as well.

yeah that was cos the team were shite, your top players have all been sold, and fuck all was being spent, you were being lied to left right and centre. you couldnt hear the traffic next to The Sports Direct Stadium for the sound of hysterical laughter coming from the board room, and yet NOTHING WAS DONE BY THE FANS. Never know such apathy from the TArmy. Disheartening to say the least.

All forgotten now cos you have won a few games now of course but ill will return to bite your flabby ass's

His timing with big decisions at the Club are shocking.

Reading different pieces in different rags it does start to make sense from a financial point of view, if we are serious about competing in the top half of the table without being crippled by debt.

Question is, are we THAT desperate to raise £10m before January and is the club genuinely looking to seek a player of that transfer fee when the transfer window opens? probably not. We are desperate for a decent striker but have enough money in the pot without jeopardizing morale. Had he seen the season out and made this move over the summer I doubt this would have created as much of an issue as it will now with 7 months remaining.

Could be worse, we could have 10 points with a Mackum at the helm... Viva Spots Direct Olympia Stadia!
