Unreal isn't it. The DJ is a Italian guy called Laurent. If you follow this link - http://www.discogs.com/groups/topic/159529?page=2 - and scroll about halfway down the page you'll see a list of hundreds of tracks he used to mix together to make the trance. From 1983 - 1993. Spanning a decade, now THAT's a set list.
Did you have any luck finding any decent partys in yr time out there Ferox? I couldnt find anything apart from pretty shite clubs. we got told you had to be out there a while and make some friends to find out about the best ones and i was only there a few days so didnt touch base with any hippys !
Amazing video. Dave Mothersole did a mix and written piece about the Goa parties which is great, bit earlier time period but top, links: http://soundcloud.com/davemothersole/the-roots-of-goa-trance http://www.bleep43.com/bleep43/2010/4/14/unveiling-the-secret-the-roots-of-trance.html
Just about fuck all, nothing around Vagator and Anjuna, where the old parties were. Loads of smaller parties in the forest though, mainly put on by the Israelis and the Russian mafia. A few bars overlooking the ocean playing psy trance til 10pm as well (no music after 10pm in Goa now without a bribe). If you went to the flea market on a Thursday morning and then the little beach shacks afterwards, then that is how you could find out about the parties. I went to one good party down in Palolem, nothing on the scale of the old days though. The police have cracked down big style, just one big beach party a year now, on new years eve when bribing the police 10k is justified.
