At the end of the day football isnt about bank statements its about Football matchs

Its very very likely the cash will be spent on dead dogs and lazy joes and you will be a back to square one. Minus one super doupa striker

Of course it isn't, and I honestly believe that in the back of all executives minds at NUFC this morning they thought they would be keeping him for the rest of the season and simply running down the hours by rejecting bids around the £25m mark from Spurs etc... with the view of an inevitable move in the Summer.

However when L'pool waded in with £35m + add on's you have a totally different ball game (no pun intended).
L'pool had the money available immediately, would they still have the same kind of money available come summer?
Would we get anything close to that for him come Summer / would he be worth that type of money EVER?
Could he justify the £90,000pw if we matched L'pools offer to try and keep him?

As a fan I'd say keep him regardless of price tag as goals for us are far too important, period.

However, if we get these funds to spend come summer (I wait with baited breath) then I'm sure a few will sharp change there tune.

    Only time will tell...

I've been 'enjoying' it for the past 15 years...

And what I said was: 'As a fan I'd say keep him regardless of price tag as goals for us are far too important, period'

But the fact still stands - Andy Carroll is not worth £35m x £90,000pw at this present moment in time. I wouldn't rule out the fact that he'll be up there with the best in a few seasons (which wouldn't have been in a NUFC jersey either). He's young, he's promising, he can score goals, but to the tune of the above figures remains a huge question mark.

A 6.5ft athlete with a history of violence to his name, pushed out his home town Club against his own will after penning a 5 year deal just months previous?

Just pointing out the irony in it all. If Carroll really didn't want the move, all he had to do was put a spanner in the works when it came to agreeing personal terms ;)

It certainly is a strange one, personally I think those messages were sent with 1 intention in mind - to plant a seed.

Like you say, if he genuinely wanted to stay, the bottom line is that he would have released a statement through the Club saying this and not through Steve Wraith of 'Toon Talk'.

some went to Spurs, they also got that Muntari from Inter and Sessegon from France somewhere. Pretty safe to say Gyan is the best striker in the North East by a decent distance now :(

Big Andrew is getting found out BIG TIME. As your favorite board member and soccer expert told you all months ago. He simply hasnt got the pace OR the brain to play anything except LONG BALL.

Liverpools 'pass and move' is making him look a Non league lump! The phone ins are full of scousers gutted they have spent 35mill on that tatty..

    Aguero cost less!!!

Both Carroll and Henderson are struggling big time. Henderson goes missing for long spells. To be fair to AC the service today was rotten, he'll probably benefit when Gerrard returns to the fold. At least he's not missing absolute sitters like Torres though eh?

At the minute though the money spent on the two of them is looking like a massive waste.
