granty i am devastated you never mentioned detox... but in a way i think thats a good thing as you never mention cybernetix radar citric acid or any of the other totally unpretetnious nights out there either

mind you i still find all this borrowing of "brands" merely a quick route to the dark side of the force

Its not really borrowing brands mate. Its spending years building up connections by grafting your tits off then being asked by these huge brands to represent them and run their parties in your home city. You would have to be a total idiot to say no and turn it down when you have the owner of some of the biggest clubbing brands on the planet on the phone asking you to run parties for them.

We dont just go up to them fill them with shit and fill their pockets with money as a lot of other promoters do. Its not the same as booking a DJ and getting him to play. They trust us to do a good job and run their parties how they should be ran as it is their brand name on the line as well.

I don't really understand what you mean by the dark side of the force? Please explain?

the dark side of the force = using a brand to further ones own dj career

although it is a different sphere , tidy and sundissential both asked us to run parties for them a few years back and i said no to both

....by the way when i have a spare hour or so i will do you the courtesy of an epic reply in the canvas thread from new year :)

So are you saying the lads should have knocked back the chance to host zoo project just incase crap old cunts like you moan about it on a messageboard? i didnt see anyone complain when wax-on did a cocoon night or when system did cocoon in the park? its giving people a chance to see some good dj's and if the atmosphere was anything like circo loco the night will be spot on..

and that dark side of the force shite.. if the lads have grafted for the last 3 years and built up jaunt so they can host nights of this nature what would be the problem if they did get extra gigs off the back of it? surely its deserved? your a weird little man with a big chip on your shoulder

Further ones DJ Career???? We always put our residents at the back of the pile. Most Jaunt parties this means that we have 1.30hour to share between 4 residents. Playing abour 5 tunes each to and empty club at 11pm after putting in months of leg work....

Many other nights out there give their residents peak time or end of night spots. We do not and never have done with the only exception being our once a year residents party on NYE.
However we are thinking of changing this policy on some occasions as we feel that we should get more out of the time and effort that we put in to run 2/3 parties month in two different cities. Along side all working full time this is a lot of work so yet again your pointless comment of 'further ones own dj career' is a load of shite.

Did you ever reply to that Canvas thread? You usually have enough time to gob off on this message board about absolute bull shit so i dont know why you haven't replyed to it yet?

    Further ones DJ career?

.... you can't tell me promoters are in this (or SHOULD be in this) for purely altruistic reasons? Bullshit.

People try and put this smokescreen up (once they get slightly popular, or massively) that this aint about massaging their own ego, and try and turn it into some kind of pure 'love of the music' type thing.

If you aint turning up as a punter, then you are in this for some 'reason' - there aint much money to be made in this game, so its got to be about something else eh - I dunno why anyone ever tries to deny that.

The effort any of you lot put into this is admirable for efforts sake alone - brand or no brand.

Personally i'm looking forward to when the Jaunt> lads bring Judgement Sundays to the toon.

i am busy working on a epic reply of EPIC proportions but hey its hard replying to basically a "pissed up george osborne lookalike" whose main banter was along the lines of "you know what....you are a cunt on that board" hell tell me something i dont know lol

my fave bit of the conversation was where you actually told me you sat there pissing yourselF when i was rinsing other people but you wanted to smash the screen when it was you guys...howay you cant have it both ways

at the end of the day i think (now read that carefully) you want to be famous....whereas i dont ....lets leave it it that....see you in the canvas thread sometime

theres fuck all money in it if thats what you chase

I DO IT FOR PURELY THE LOVE OF THE PARTY

i dont want to go to branded , dressy up corporate club events as i view that as the opposite of all acid house was fighting against so we started our own event as much by accident as anything else
the day we will leave is if we end up bankrupt or we dont enjoy it anymore

mind you 99% out there do DO IT it to get known as a dj or make money

i aint no dj other than in me bedroom and i have no wish to stroke the dollar

in this materialistic world of today i know you may find it hard but what else can it be that gets you out exit flyering at 4am in the morning or postering stinking kebab shops if not the love of it.

its either that, insanity or both

there are very few experiences that equal (=) watching an event that you have organised go off big time - if you ask anyone else who runs events they will know what i mean - that for me is the buzz of it.

    no more no less

if you chase fame, coin or girls your event wont last long

Well there you go then - It just goes to show people do it for different reasons.

It depends when you 'jumped on board' (as well as other things) that shapes your view on how you want things to be, and what you enjoy.

If bringing big Ibiza brands to the toon, and working your nuts off to make them go off with a bang - then thats awesome.

You prefer to fly under that radar, and indeed we are all listening to repetitive music in a dark room at the end of the day, but there was never a point where the morals and dogma were set in stone.

.... obviously so these days when the DJ's who played at Rez events like Carl Cox, have now emmigrated as millionaires and spend their lives jetting around the world riding on their own hype.

Commercialisation was always inevitable, and makes way for the next 'big thing' no matter what that may be. I think its fair enough to say the average new intake of clubbers doesnt give a stuff about what went on in 1990 when they were 2-4 years away from even being born, and looks at cool 'semi underground' brands as cutting edge.

Doesn't this just contradict everything you just said about Jaunt, a night that has been going for over three years?

totally does mate, Melt you dont have a clue about jaunt. Weve been running it for 3 years. we haven't taken a single penny out, there has been points where we have risked thousands of pounds on credit cards taken out specifically to run the party, lent hunderds off pounds off parents (then paid back) and even put every single penny we have into the party to get it goin and yeah the reward is standing behind the decks or on the dance floor in a rammed club - that is the buzz.

Melt you dont have a fuckin clue about anyone involved in Jaunt or why we do it and are making fuckin idiotic assumptions.

'george osbourne' lookalike..... haha. Im not going to bite but your looks definitely aren't much to be buzzing about mate.

Your banta that night was trying to defend yourself whilst i repeatedly called you a cunt as you stood there trying to defend why you do it and why Rankin stood next to me and tried to stick up for you (fucking god knows why). I'm going to leave it there and I'm sure we will meet each other again outside flyering at 4am.

I'm waiting for the typical melt response now... "I've got you to bite, it's all good, I am mint and you take this board too seriously, like shooting fish in a barrel etc..." plus the obligatory "safety wink"

    Nail on the head.

And thats why i'll be flyering outside of Digital at 4am and Cosmic at 5:30am tonight even though I start a 12 hour shift at 8:30am.

Its pathetic. I hope when i'm his age i've got better things to do with my time than try and get bites off people nearly half my age and plan responces to threads that are nearly 2 months old.

To be honest. I'd love to know why you talk about us so much Melt. Every time I go on here, which is a rare event these days. You're always whopping on about us. Even going back to when we first started you said we'd never last 3 months.

Over 3 years later we're still here putting on parties for like minded people who want to listen to good music, have a dance and have a good time. Surely those things were pretty high up on the agenda when having parties back in '88?

i push your buttons because I can and you react...yous take it all so seriously, any time any one ever says any word of criticism theres like 5 of you come out the fucking woodwork as TEAM JAUNT FUCK YEAH

surely if you are promoting events you should be able to take criticism whether its tongue in cheek or not

its like the time I said to someone "you cant read the date or location on the JAUNT poster" , next thing i know i am getting a photo text message one sunday afternoon saying "this is what we think of detox flyers" with a pic of some goon ripping one up....its fucking laughable but its actions like that which make me go after shooting fish in a barrel..... most of yous lot dont go to the type of events we run but in your world you think that "harder music" is dead and its nothing if it aint got some kind of cool ibiza brand associated with it.

you have a go at me as having some misconceptions fuck me , the preconceptions you have about us are nothing short of astronomically way wide of the mark based on message board banter end of!!!

from where i am sitting yous are ageist, blinkered and tunnel visioned and have some of the biggest misconceptions going

and you only ever flex your "muscles" when there are like 4 of yous kicking around versu one of ME

i WOULD LOVE TO SEE the crack when theres like 10 detox crew and 1 of you....let me tell you for one we wont be standing there going "you know what you are cunts" about twenty times like a gound dog day of the brown bottle out of VIZ we will just get on and do our thing

fuck me man lighten up .....if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen

i take criticism and channel it to improve an event....yous "boys" just get upset at every little quip as if the whole world revolves around planet jaunt lol

fuck me man they take it all so seriously...... i dont even defend my board banter,,,,, it is what it is..... if you get upset at me saying that your > on the end of jaunt looks very similar to the _ on error_ or the colon : on habit: you really need to have a word with yourself.

all i ever say is its board banter get over it.... i make observations ....always have always will ...the fact that it all kicks off suggest to me it hits a nerve.....the problem with this place and newcastle is that too many fuckers schmoose each other and sit on the fence whilst slagging each other off behind their backs 2 mins after talking to their pretend best promoter mates.

juts fucking say it how you see it....it would make for a far more interesting board rather than every one bumming each other and telling each other how great their lineups are when sometimes they arent

anyway ive gotten this thread far too much traffic now - i am off
