Welcome to the Sub club. I have the black bezel version.

You'll have that watch for life, and will probably be able to sell it for whatever you paid for it. Can't say that about many things eh.

Unless your a flash footballer on 40k a week and you live in the real world you need your head testing spending anything more than £20 on a watch in this digital age.

I like watches, but couldnt justify spending that much. I seem to change my watch annually anyway so buying one for life is definitely not for me.

Saying that though, just checked it out and it looks good, especially in black :)

It's the engineering that goes into making the movements, the brand, the prestige etc etc. Granted they only tell the time but most of stuff people blow their cash on is about getting one up on someone else.

Expensive, yes, but there aren't many things in this world you can buy, use, and then sell for exactly what you paid for it.

Why would anybody pay the same price for a second hand watch that you could buy as new on the internet?

Cos they release new models, and the old models still sell for the same amount.

They control the amount they produce each year, to keep demand high, so say you got the A version 5 years ago, and then the B version comes out of the same watch (slight changes in style etc etc), the A version will sell for pretty much the same price as the second hand price of the B version.

So because they ramp the prices up 10% a year or something, it basically means that you can buy one of their watches, and then sell it for whatever you paid for it cause the constant price rises of the new ones mean the second hand prices keep going up, and people like older watches for their 'vintage/classic' appeal.
