Why are club nights going monthly?

    Why are club nights going monthly?

    Babooshka have now gone monthly @ Code,letting retro play there on a saturday night,whilst babooshka is playing once a month.Are all club nights gojng this way?

    no, not all are, its just its not financially viable to put on weekly nites if the crowds arent coming in.
    a lot of promoters have realised the success of monthly nites, such as elements at turnmill and type at the cross.
    even cream has struggled recently, with the courtyard being closed.
    its only the more underground nites that are flourishing, such as tribal sessions and our own promise.
    people dont want the full blown club experience, they appear to want to get back to the darker, more intimate nights with 1 or 2 djs, rather than 5 or 6.
    thats why i aint keen on these big arena nites, cos the vast majority of people there arent regular clubbers, which leads to somewhat tense atmospheres.
    also, do u really want to hear the same track played 5 or 6 times in one nite?
    clubland isnt dying, its just evolving, which can only be a gud thing.
