    who actually likes the prog?

i know theres a few prog heads on here who are probably gunna kick off but who actually likes all the prog that we get at the start of promise?

the fact that promise nearly died last year in its prog phase kinda shows that the majority arnt keen on prog. for the first hour or so i think it serves its purpose well to warm everyone up but after that i just get bored...last friday for example...we had four hours of prog and i was bored senseless!!

i know promise is a prog and trance club but would anybody else rather there was more trance than prog? it doesnt have to be pumping, hard trance all nite though....nick riley plays what i would say is a proper trance warm up set at crasher and the nite still builds up gradually and im sure mr tulip could play ace trance warm ups as his late trance sets are superb!

    more trance please?

i fully agree, but i suppose it depends on your personal taste.

I like it when there is a prog warm up for an hour or so, but when there is prog for longer than that (Friday for example), it does get very boring.

the real music should have started by 12, not 2.

I aint a proggie fan, but some proggie warm up's are wikkid specially the dirty darker ones (a la corvin dalek), however the repetitive intelligent ones sometimes get a bit boring (or even a lot boring :D)... but I'd hate out right trance as warm up music... my ideal warm up prog would be dark and dirty or the more trancey side of prog :D

One of my bestest warm up sets was when richie warmed up for eddie halliwell (after pete gooding) another would be corvins first set at promise :D

i agree that richards set before eddie was good but it wernt really that proggy was it...IMO nick rileys style of warm up, almost maybe chilled-ish trance would sound better in promise...the prog just bores me...sorry:rolleyes:

did get pretty bored on firday but as a whole i dont really mind the prog warm-ups. wouldnt it get a little boring if it was trance all the way through?

thought by about 1am on friday that it should have been a bit harder/upbeat...loads of people i was talking were pretty bored.

normally richards and corvins warmups are spot on, mind you, they dont go on until 2am! last time i heard seamen playing the late set it was very good, doing a warmup set until 2am wasnt that great tho...

    I'm a fan of progressive...

...and I don't really like Trance. I end up missing people like Dave Seaman, Anthony Pappa and Chris Fortier (who are some of favourite dj's) because I don't want to pay my money to be going home at midnight because I don't like what the dj's playing after them. I'd rather save myself for Shindig because the night plays what I want to here all night.

What I'm trying to say is that, even as a progressive fan, if it got the majority vote its not going to affect me if there was no progressive in a night.

Does anyone else feel the same?
    (Does that even make sense?)

i really enjoy the prog warmups! :D

agreed they can get boring after a few hours and they should be kept to a warm up. corvins set at the bday was the best of the lot as far as i was concerned, more corvin please!!
