    Wednesday Nights Out?

    Anyone with any recommendations as to where to go on a Wednesday night in Newcastle? Not particularly looking for somewhere quiet to go as its a friends 21st birthday...so basically looking for anywhere that will play decent-ish dance music with the occasional bit of cheddar thrown in to end the night in style! ;)

    World Headquarters is generally the best thing in the week, not sure if hipchecks still on tho or if it stopped for the summer

    used to be vodka nation, but they've stopped it. Probably because it was 50p for doubles or something ridiculous like that.

    Sea is cheap on a wed, used to be rnb, they've moved it to a tuesday now the students have gone home. If i remember rightly it's £3 in and 90p a bottle till 12.

    Nothing is out of my league as far as music is concerned to be honest...I'm pretty open minded about the stuff I listen to and play although I prefer trance and hard dance. The only reason I suggested the occasional smattering of cheddar is that is what my friend enjoys, I think....well in moderation anyway. Anyway, Hipcheck, is it held at WHQ? And what kind of music can I expect?

    This could actually be the more likely option just because of how cheap it is....Its a 21st birthday so the quality of the music isn't vitally important but getting hammered quickly is definitely on the agenda.

    last 2 wednesdays ive been its bin pretty thin on the ground +th crowd that go arent exactly much to shout about.. more of a termtime thing methinks... but its the only place u gonna hear danceish music on a weeknight.. 4bars with dance music try clear, beyond, popolo +charvoloution... all the other clubs are pure smeg on a week. looks like blu bambu :lol:

    i can testify this as I saw the 'lord of the message board' strutting around ikon on a thursday night on not too long ago... lookin like he was having a wail of a time +grinning like a big fat cheshire cat...


    he must have been there for the "real hip hop" ;)
