    I dunno I picked it up on a couple of news sites this morning... maybe its been known about for ages but they've only just demonstated it 'publically' anyway....

    Military officials, who say the gun is harmless, believe it could be used as a non-lethal way of making enemies surrender their weapons.

    It can't hurt as much as being shot, so i think this is a good thing.

    I think it actually hurts more than being shot for the first few seconds actually.

    I think that the pain from a gunshot wound can take several seconds to register with a victim and is also somewhat masked by shock quite quickly. This hurts as soon as it hits your skin and until they stop pointing it at you and apparently it hurts like hell.

    don't get me wrong, I'd still rather be death rayed than M16'd!

    What I meant was the damage from a bullet would be worse than that heat ray.

    Actually a spoon wouldn't spark in a microwave, a fork would though. :)

    Less actually bodily harm..

    The same effect though.

    This lad I knew at school thought the army would have Star Wars style laser guns by the year 2010. :lol: He also said everyone will have flying cars by then aswell.
