    Tropic Thunder.

Watched this the other night and throught it was absolute quality.

It's a straight-up comedy, but also a subtle satire on the inner workings of Hollywood and the film industry in general.

The cast across the board were brilliant, but a special mention must go to Robert Downey Jr. His portrayal of "5 time Academy Award Winner Kirk Lazarus" is fucking brilliant - A man so methodical and deep in character he's forgotten who he is.

I was also surprised at how well it played in parts as an actual war movie, some of the action set-pieces are brillianty played out and shot. It's one of the best looking comedies i've ever seen.

The first 5 minutes are genius, establishing the characters and the type of actors they are using a typical form of film promotion that I won't spoil.

All in all, best comedy i've seen in ages - highly recommended.

    8/10.

PS: Look out for a big star playing hot-headed studio mogul, he's fucking brilliant and nearly steals the film.

    I completely agree.

Best comedy I've seen since Anchorman.

    disapointing.

some funny jokes, i like the side swipes at the the movie industry - lots of 'obvious' jokes then loads of subtle ones - but still, didn't live up to the hype.

downey jr was the total highlight, funniest thing in it

I like Downey Jr. Glad he's started getting lots of roles again.

I still want to see this film like.

After hearing of all the complaints it received in america, I really wanted to see this. Didn't live up to expectations though. Some funny bits, but some were just stupid that we've seen a million times before.

Loved it. Downey and Cruise totally stole the show though.

Steve Coogans exit nearly made me piss my pants
