I hate savage but hes good enough to walk into our team, I'd have Sidwell in a shot but cant see that coming off, I rate Taylor too but its not a massive step forward, I'd like to have Evans back but hes not answering his Bail till February lol, cant see keano going for that one

Ive also heard of Keane in for Ewerthon from Dortmund, 6.5 million??

I would take all the players we are linked with at the minute, Savage would be a good signing to come in and give us some steel in the middle of the park, and if Taylor came in too then that would leave Richardson to play in the centre, and IF Edwards gets back to fitness then that would give us a pretty solid midfield, with the likes of Wallace, Miller, Whitehead & Leadbitter challenging too and covering for injuries etc.

That would surely be the end for Etuhu and Yorkie as well, as Etuhu is far from premier class and Yorkie hasnt got the legs anymore, and looks set for a return to Aus by all accounts.

According to some Man U fans i was speaking to on boxing day the general consensus amongst them is that Simpson & Evans coming back in Jan is pretty much a done deal, would defo like to see them both back up here alongside maybes 1 further defender with Prem experience, and a proven prem quality striker to play alongside KJ.

Not many players needed then really??

i agree, but i just hope we don't do the same as we usually do. Macarthey done it a few seasons ago, and i hate to say it but keane done it at the beginning of this season, they both bought championship players.

in my eyes none of keane's signings have strenghened our squad, gordon was over priced and hasn't really done anything, we folked out over 10m for chopra and jones neither of who could hit a bulls arse with a banjo.

fair enough there's still plenty of games left but i reckon we're doomed, i can't see keane being able to tempt players to a club second bottom.

Gotta say i disagree there mate, Kenwyne Jones is by far and away the best forward Sunderland have had since SKP left a few years ago. Put him in a side that is creating chances and he will score goals, no questions. He has 5 already and with Richardson fit + maybes another creative midfielder to come in and he will hit 10+ easily this season imo.

Kieren Richardson will be a massive player for us in the second half of the season, was awesome against Bolton and the same again down at Blackburn midweek, despite not yet being fully fit and still coming back from a fractured back!!

Gordon looks like a classy keeper yet is still far from the finished article, though give him 12-24 months experience and hopefully we will see him fulfill his massive potential.

Chopra gives 110% every game and has done well at times despite being played largely as a winger, there is still question marks over whether he can be a top striker at this level. Imo he is one of the most natural finishers we have, and i would like to see him playing with more creative players behind him, rather than the likes of Etuhu/Yorke as he has been for most of this season.

With regards to transfers, im glad to see Evans brought in this morning as he was awesome last year albeit in the fizzy pop league. He undoubtedly has the quality to make the step up into the premiership and hopefully he can be what we have been missing at centre half.

In terms of rumours, ive been told Bardsley from Man Utd will follow for 1.5 million, and also heard we have put in a bid for James Mcfadden from Everton as well as the obvious ongoing links of Savage etc.
