The students have gone....... How will effect the toon? does it have a major effect on the clubs? I know Sunderland is the ghost town in the summer........... it REALLY depends on students now....... probs would struggle to survive without them now, many taxi drivers get other jobs untill the students return! Not sure about Toon tho?
Heaton / Fenham / Jesmond & the likes will have a fair few empty places during this time ! Can see it hitting some places hard ! Munchies 2 being one of them....
i think toon kinda balances itself out with returning locals who study away. people who get away from sunderland tend not to return, ever!
Re: The students have gone....... Preston's like that too. Sometimes I think they rely too heavily on students. They're building all this student accomodation but one day supply will outrun demand.
a lot of students actually chose to just stay up here over the summer unless they have totally finished there course. its good here
totalty, went home through town on monday night and its was empty..... all the students either away home or staying cos of exams
Newcastle is by far the best city in the UK. It hasnt got the Ghettos the rest have and with that goes the street crime. Theres not many city centers as friendly and safe as NCL.
when the choice is between newcastle/my own house/drinking what i want and darlington...i think ill go for newcastle
What do u meran by ghettos? Durham doesn't have any "ghetto's" but thats still rough as fuck, as is darlo, I was going to mention sunderland and boro but they are ghettos
