The Record Store's Code of Conduct

In response to a thread in 'Your Photos' about the lovely guys down at Flying Records always being in a bad mood, here is The Independent Record Store's Code of Conduct:

    1) Anyone caught smiling/laughing will be asked to leave.

    2) Members of staff showing any signs of being in a good mood will be severely dealt with.

    3) Members of staff must show as little respect as possible to customers and always ensure they feel uneasy in the store.

    4) Anyone caught in conversation about trance will be asked to leave the premises immediately and may be fined for damages to the store's cool image.

    5) And remember, "You're not the DMC World Champion".

Re: The Record Store's Code of Conduct

 Ive been buying records from flying for years, they have always sorted me out. They even call me when tunes are in that I have asked for. Looks like I'm in the vinyl "brown circle" never to be darkened by any trance pansy  **joke**

Im surprised record shops with an attitude like that make any money .... The few times ive ever been in flying, i wanted to leave before the door had even closed behind me for fear my coat might brush against a record that the staff didnt approve of.

you guys wanna come down to boro!

we have alan fearnleys where they dont talk to you if you don't listen to the worst funky house you have ever heard, and where they havn't got listening stations, just one old turntable that plays the tune for the whole shop, so you cannot skip through them etc!

we got fat dog which the smackheads have just cleaned out!

and we've got hmv which hasn't had a decent record for about a year, and was packed today as some fag from pop idol was in there!

    thank god for 'tinternet'!:D

I do most of my record shopping on the net these days, lets me get records that i actually want and got the world to choose from if i cant find what i'm looking for. Havnt been to flying for months now basically due to the fact they dont sell breakbeat, only really go to HMV and steels wheels in town.

Scott Bradford's really sound when he's on the desk, always exceptionally helpful, as is Scooby.

Mark can sometimes be moody, I think it's if you go in and just don't have a clue, he can't be arsed with you. He's been cool the last few times I've been in.

Flying's stock aint really my sound though :spangled:
Saying that, I aint been in in a while

I find Mark the most helpful out the lot, then Lee then Scott then Juss. Nice bunch of lads if you get to know em, very down to earth bearing in mind their position.
