depends what you join m8, some require unreal levels of fitness/discipline.

It's a great life if that's what you want to do, I really enjoyed myself.

You don't always get the job you applied for! My mate trained to be a fireman for a few months and then on passing his exams got told there were no jobs!?!?! Offered him either admin or driving, so he told them where to go.

That's right, you always need to complete your basic training first. Then apply for a specialisation, you don't always get what you want. I failed the course for my first choise, got my second no problems. Your a soldier/sailor/airman first...specialist second.

    Word!

I thought you had to be trained properly though for any jobs in the forces. You may be sent tp a war zone, etc, so I would imagine you would be needed to be trained up like a soldier, etc!

regardless of what you do you still have to do basic training... my cousins are training to be stores accountants in the navy but they've still had to go one big fook off runs and such like, and as far as im aware, it aint easy.

i joined the army......and left......reasons, i missed my home life, everything about the army was great tho, even the fitness was class, you may think it sounds shit, but your that fit you feel really really good about yourself.

give it consideration, and if it wat you want go for it, your not signing up for life and have all your basic training to decide if its for you before commiting, and if its not for you, quit, its no shame at least u gave it a go.

i did, enjoyed it, and id say i learnt alot about myself in process including things as simple as i know if i want something i can get it, and from the physical that can be applied anywhere when i thought i cudnt ru anymore i cud, it was just i was mentally weak, but pushed through and did it....all a matter of perserverance.

id reccomend it to anyone even if just for the experience
