yup. how bizarre was it, talking from his point of view about his own death. and he was all so calm about it. do u reckon he died on the train on the way home? he looked so bad in the hotel.

It was about a 36 year old man, he was born with an illness called Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa - it causes the skin to fall off. 70% of his body was covered in bandages, it was awful to watch his mother changing them - he was in so much pain. And the bandages had to be changed on a reulgar basis. And eventually the illness causes cancer.

ouch...when i went to benidorm in '97 i met this lad who was really attractive when it was dark but when the sun came up he turned ugly & his skin fell off...don't think it was the same thing but awful all the same! :)

he had a right sense of humour though. The classic being "bumps or severe friction cause the skin to fall off. like constant wanking!"

Didnt he die when he got home - he was still sitting in the wheel chair, his head was down - but i dont think he had the strength to hold it up?

it was just weird the bit on the train, the guy seemed very concerned when checking him, and he seemed in the same position. he couldn't even properly open his eyes in the hotel.

    Yea that made me laugh:)

But how bad was it when he had the bandages taken off? It would be like when your a kid, and you fall over, and scrape the skin off your knee or something, and you put a plaster on, but when it starts to heal, the plaster gets stuck, and you have to rip it off...it's like that, but he had that all over his back, legs and arms, and has to have the bandages constantly changed on a regluar basis for all his life.:(

I think he was just very weak on the train...they should have flown him home though - after visiting number 10, so he could die in the comfort of his own home.

it was weird how it just started with him in his wheel chair, dead. yet, him doing the voice over!

none of it seemed to bother him. spose he'd had so long to come to terms with it.

Nah, i dont think that was it, he said that death was a part of life, and he didnt understand why people were scared of it and didnt talk about it because it would happen to everyone. Also, he had been through so much pain in life that dying would free him of it, and also be a relief.

Thats a good philosophy to have and why death would have troubled him less. To some people death isnt always bad
