tba - sos (van doorn mix) i got this record ages ago and its spot on but radio 1 seem to be playing a version which sounds like a different bloke singing, not the original sting lyrics like ive got? any ideas about this or am i imagining it?

hes done a good job on a tune that could have been a lot worse, though i still cringe slightly when i hear it out. i love van doorn though this is a bit shit compared to his usual standard, though what ive said 100 times before, it will get 10x the play that any 'AKA' or 'Hoover' will, so will be a good thing in him making his name amongst people that arent massively into their tunes.

there has been another mix doing the rounds with someone else singing as sting wouldnt clear the sample to have his voice on it.
i bought it though not particuarly keen on it, the vocals ruin it for me personally. i emailed him asking if a dub would be getting released if it got a full release, though at the time he said wasnt sure as didnt think the sample would get licenced
its nowhere near as bad as people make out, i wouldn't buy it but when i heard it out it did the business and thats where it counts
i've probably just got a soft spot for the tune seeing as machine head one of my favourite metal bands covered the original track by the police
