More technically, what happened was that within the global routing table, all 84 blocks of IP addresses assigned to Syria have gone unreachable. That means that Internet traffic destined for that country is going undelivered, and also that traffic coming from within it cannot get out to the world.

Yep, the scale of control needed to pull this off requires a government pulling the strings.

I think I'm right in saying that Syria only has a few ISPs but they're all under state control.

It's back on now, but one must questions why it would've been shut down for 3 days in the first place. I actually thought it might have been the Rebs/UN chopping it somehow in order to keep the truth from being broadcast all over twitter & facebook. Then I thought maybe the government did chop it to affect the rebel movement or something like that.

Whatever happens over there now it'll never be a free Syria, it's all a fucking illusion. They're far better off with the current regime than what might get in if & when it collapses.

Surprised about terrorism hypocrisy? America funded the IRA of years but strangely this went all a bit quiet post 9/11.

    Go learn. Google it.
