News reports are saying her bodys been found and a taxi driver arrested. Dosnt take a genius to work out whats happened here. Even getting a taxi home from the club can end up with you in a shallow grave these days.
I regularly end up in a taxi on my own after a night out in town, mainly because my friends live in Gateshead/town, but I will think twice about flagging down a taxi now!
Awful story I really hate how they referred to her as a 'clubber'. No she fucking aint, she's a human being. She was in some poxy civilian club anyways - hardly what you would call the place a 'clubber' goes to. I suppose if you think about it, we put absolute blind faith in taxi drivers that they will keep us safe. As 'sexist' as it sounds, i'm not so sure women should travel alone in cabs at dead o clock in the morning with a load of drink inside them.

None of us really think about the risks associated with a night out. There was a young lad who fell off the side of the high-level bridge in town a few months back (because of how inebriated he was) and fell onto concrete behind the cooperage. There was a massive hunt for him (and the inevitable happened when they found him a few days later). Turns out in that particular case the taxi drivers were refusing to take him home because he was so hammered. I know thats completely different to this, but when we've drank and been merry, most of us don't realise how vulnerable we are (male or female), and it's sad that one persons life with so much potential has been ended at the hands of someone else. RIP.
shocking story all to easy to flag a taxi down pre book is the way to go not always easy but sometime precautions have to be done i like the text to your phone that blueline and LA use for when the wife is out with her mates,to many unlicenced cabs in town and women on there own are an easy target
There are female-only taxi companies out there tho, its just up to the punters to have the sense to use them.
I've heard some stories from female mates about sleazy/weird taxi drivers and some of the shit they come out with. Worrying indeed
I hate to think what these polish dudes could have done back home. Its not possible to check out immigrants so i guess it dosnt happen
