sunderland first another poor display..some awful passing at times and no one, seemingly able to calm it down and cut out the clearances just getting booted, upfield..head in hands, at times for me.. a really soft goal given away, but was SM obstructed? their goalkeeper sending off was a really difficult one to call..top of chest, or tricep area?..either way, he went.. our penalty was a shocker..chest to arm..still, we could use a bit of luck! lucky to get away with (a good decision) to give them a free kick, right on the edge of the box. shocking challenge on SM for the 1 on 1. i'll take the point, but 3 were really needed. newcastle looked pretty tidy for the first half, although not much seemed to be happening for shots on wigan's goal..the tackle on your player was an absolute shocker..simple as that..i'd think that the wigan player would be embarrassed and will have apologised for it, as it was a real leg breaker..that seemed to knock the wind out of your sails a bit and you were all over the place.. i'd say it was pretty obvious there was going to be a confrontation, between their player and god knows who from newcastle..a block should have been put on that happening (imo).. from there on in, it wasn't really about the football any more and i think another bad tackle from either side, could have resulted in a free for all.. the handball should have been spotted, for their winner.. all in all, two poor games that we both needed to win.
I didn't see MOTD so can't comment on your game but I was very disappointed with our performance/result. The horrific tackle and blatant hand ball aside we didn't create enough. I still think we'll be ok but its Man City next, a defeat and some results for the teams below us drags us right back in to the scrap.
It was an absolutely shocking tackle. Any money that bellend Dave Whelan would have said the exact opposite if the tackle had been the other way round (Haidara on McMananaman) Yes let's just get this Man City game out of the way.
