    Promise Spam??

    why have i been getting loads of dance music related spam recently??

    i started getting myself removed there lists and started talking to one person about how he got both my email addresses

    here is is his reply

    Promise dont spam BUT if ur email address is on here anywhere (profiles and what not) then unfortunately spammers WILL get hold of em.

    They can use special software to trawl specific domains (i.e. promisealways.com) to collect email addresses...

    Its shit but not a lot u can do :down:

    Aye I suppose they will always have ways... i'm not too fussed so I don't get much at all and what I do get I block... coming to think of it, i've not had any of the usual spam that used to infest my hotmail account for months :up:

    im still getting major spam from those virus that pretend to be sent from people you dont even know.

    Lisa gets unsolicited emails from Genre. How did they get her email address? A lot of her Uni friends get unwanted emails from Genre as well. How did Genre get their emails?

    Spam...no!

    There is not much they can do, why don't you set your mail client to block all atachments that are suspect (except for zips). I did that and it reduced my spam by about 75%.

    Can I just say again that Promise do not spam and do not sell your email addys/mobile numbers.

    Can I also recommend that you never type your email address onto any threads on the board, I know for a fact that some spammers (clubpromos.com for a start) have stolen any email addresses they can from this site.

    If you get anything you don't want that is uk based (BUT ONLY UK BASED) follow their unsubscribe procedure, if that does not work let me know and i'll get you the telephone number of the list owner so that you can phone them up and kick off (i've done it before and it usually works).

    If you want to get off the onarush list I think you need to talk to stickyhead (member on here) i'm sure he'll sort it out for you.
