I'm going over for 2 nights next weekend, we booked through www.praguepissup.com.

It's working out at £47each for the weekend with free airport transfers, we're staying in 1* 2 bedroom apartments cos that was the cheapest option.

Dunno how good the rooms are etc. but if it's a lad's weekend away who cares?

I went in September, it was really nice. :D Can't remember where we stayed, it was quite far out the city centre though which was slightly annoying, though the trams are canny.

It's cheap, especially if you drink the local stuff. Some of the local food is a bit weird but there's loads of english food available and plenty people speak English (and German). And as with everywhere you go there's a decent Irish bar - http://www.rockyoreillys.cz/intro.html

I have been twice now the first time i stayed in the "Hotel Pyramida" which was smart as owt :

    http://www.hotels-in-prague-czech.com/hotel-pyramida.php?gclid=CK-rj8228okCFQJPQgodTHM1KQ

The second time and just late last year i stayed in the Jet Centro Apartments or something like that? On the street there was 2/3 massive strip clubs like so that was canny handy.... Basic inside but at the same time just what you needed really and litteraly 5 mins from Duplex Club and other places.

Yes, sometimes they can be a bit more expensive though.

C-tine - I stayed in the old town, don't really know the differences between old & new though (apart from the obvious..)

Prague is ok, nothing amazing though

The 50p a pint thing only really exists in the Old Town now

I went twice last time i went in Aug/Sept 06, first night was to see one of Lexicon Ave and then 2nd time was the day after and it was Drumb n Bess needless to say i walked out after an hr.

Duplex is class as a venue on the 5th floor loverlookin the main road n that - i wanted to go to a club i went a few years ago which has about 6 floors but we never went.

Plenty of places to choose from like anyways.
