Anyone got any reccomendations of hotels in or around (20 minute drive) the city centre?

It is lush but strictly for special occassions like

Me and the boy went there on our first date, if only he'd known that a couple of cocktails would have had the same effect..

New Kent Hotel, Osbourne Road? Quite fancy the four poster bed!

What's the area like, as long as there is a nice place to eat and it isn't full of chavs it's good enough for me!

Osbourne Road is really nice, and if you are going over xmas all the students (who by the way constantly put tescos out of stock of bread, chicken, pasta and soup while using daddies gold card) will have gone home. There are some nice restraunts, cafe's and bars all down the length of osbourne road, you can get the metro into town, walk 5 mins, Metro 2 mins, get the bus 2Mins or walk all the way down to the bottom of osbourne road and turn right and you are in town which should take you about 10 mins. Just off from Osbourne road is a tesco's a newsagents, boots, chemist, wine rack, hardware shop, shoe repair, barbers, optician, dentist, hairdressers, lloyds bank with cashpoint, threshers, little cafe, milligans, greggs, butchers, a fish shop, a chinese takeaway, oxfam, starbucks. So that should pretty much have you covered.
