Paul Van Dyk heads up DanceStar nominations Paul Van Dyk and The Crystal Method head up the DanceStar US nominations which have just been announced, with five nods each. BT picked up four nods and the Chemical Brothers have picked up three for Best International Act, Best Video ('The Golden Path') and Best DVD ('Singles 93-93'). Paul Van Dyk's nominations include Best Event, Best Use of Music in a Commercial for the Motorola ad and Best International DJ against John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto and Steve Lawler amongst others. British artists to be recognised include Basement Jaxx, Audio Bullys, Goldfrapp and Underworld. Dance music awards/polls seem to be getting decidedly more and more like the oscars these days.... seems more about pretentious name dropping than actual credibility and achievements. Oakenfold nominated for best international DJ.... please! the man lost the plot ages ago as far as DJ'ing is concerned. Then again what do i know
