Other DJ's? Who would u like to see at promise? Do u think promise should get more harder? i would love it if it did! get djs like anne savage, rob tissera, both lisa's, maybe the tidy boys? that would b good!!!!
nooooo! promise defo shouldnt play hard house. i do like a little (and i mean a little) bit of hard house now and then but i dont think it will work in promise. it should continue its trance route (prog trance, trance, hard trance) while also having people like dalek and picotto every so often.
would really like to see the tidy boys and rob tissera play again in newcastle, but i dont really think they suit promise's sound...maybe every so often they could do special nites where they get a dj with a different sound to play but i cant see it happenin really wot we need is an afterclub after promise!
yeah i would like to see harder DJ's in promise now and again. I'm not sure weather or not it would suit promise though. But i think it could be worth a try. Be best to see harder DJ's in an afterclub to promise!!!
I like hard house but that's not why I go to promise. Me finks promise should be prog/trance/hard trance/and a bit of techno from time to time.... I agree with dave we need an after hours club in newcastle. But would the council go such an idea....I think not....
We have tried to get an after hours club sorted in Newcastle, but it is impossible to get a licence. Too many residents in the centre of town complain! I don't think hard house is the way for Promise to go personally, even though I love it myself. Promise is doing fantastically well at the moment, so why change it? I'm sure it will evolve as music evolves, as all clubs have to (even Shindig has gone from 'cheesy' house a good few years ago, to a more US house based sound now).
Tried to get one in Rockshots, but the people in the flats over the road complained! Obviously can't do it there anymore anyway. It's very difficult to get a licence as most of the (decent) clubs in Newcastle are near residential areas. Not to mention the police and magistrates getting arsey about it too!
Its a shame its hard to get a licence for an after hours club that is just what Newcastle need now! It would be wicked leaving promise then having somewere else to go afterwards and i could get the first metro home saving on taxi money!!!!
I too think the same way as u guys, i think promise should get a proper hard house nite once in a while like once every 2 months. this way it wont spoil the ever popular original promise nite but also it will break up the 'every friday at promise' and will give something a bit different for the regulars. I really do wish we could get an after club venue, itll be wkd! though i would spend more n more money! There must b soumewhere where no1 is gonna complain.
I dunno. I see what you're saying but I quite like whole promise every friday @ foundation thing... It's the reason I go there. And we do get variety. Look at the last two months, we've had everything from trance classics to prog, trance, hard trance, and we even got some dirty techno coming soon. If people want hard house they'll go to a hard house night. Promise doing a hard house night would be like gatecrasher doing a hard house night.....it wouldn't really work. Besides I think the club's music policy is trance/hard trance/techno and that doesn't include hard house.
