Oakey mix of born slippy Out in the shops on monday like just wondering what peeps think of it like the bloke is a legend. and i read on the net somewhere that he was thinkin of retiring end of next year what do people think will he wont he. One thing is certain he has been fantastic for the music industry in my opinion the greatest dj there is or has been.
Re: Oakey mix of born slippy He should have retired at the end of 99/2000 He's been WELL past it for some time. Credit where credit is due though in terms of his past, just kicked the arse right out of it for about the last 3 years.
is this another remix by oakey or just a release/re-release, cos he did a mix years ago, quite breakbeatish at the start if i remember rightly.
Agreed, the man was a total legend back from his old balearic days, then from the supah-star era of 1997-2000. Since then he should have stuck to his production work, His DJ'ing work since 2000 has dampened his name massively... Too pretentious, too many world tours.... Sick of all that baloney now. Still produces well though, and his film scores have been great.
Its a different mix mate, its sort of heavy-Trance if that makes sense. It is good tho. I dont think Oakies past it at all
