nucastle.co.uk presents.... Anecdote (Room 2, Transfusion) New Years Day 2010

Some of you may have noticed nucastle.co.uk are hosting the back room at Transfusion and might be wondering what it's all about....

The nucastle.co.uk website is a message board dedicated to dance events and music in the North East. With over 2,000 members and over 1m posts, the nucastle board is the largest forum dedicated to the dance music scene in Newcastle.

Formerly the Promisealways message board, the site used to be a hub of information for fans of dance music and followers of the Promise event which brought many huge dance names to Newcastle during it's five year tenure at one of Newcastle most famous clubs, the now defunct foundation on Melbourne Street.

Without Promise, nucastle has expanded to become a one-stop site to find out whats going on in the North East. Among its members are everyone from promoters and DJs from long-running dance events to those who just enjoy getting down every weekend and share a love of dance music.

More recently nucastle has launched its own podcast, a showcase of the best and brightest of Newcastle's new generation of talented local DJs, playing a wide range of music from Dubstep and Grime all the way through to Trance and Hardcore. This has evolved into the anecdote event, a series of one-off nights showcasing the best in new and local DJs that Newcastle has to offer.

On New Years Day, some of the best of Newcastle's talent will come together to give you an alternative to the Transfusion sound of the main room. Showcasing the best in Disco, Breaks, House, and Techno, nucastle is proud to present a first hand look at some of the best local talent out there. With a handpicked mix of tried and tested local favourites and some brand new faces, we promise not to disappoint.

To find out more (or to produce your own episode for the podcast), visit www.nucastle.co.uk and have a look for yourself. Signing up to the board and the podcast is free.

nu_music, nu_order, nu_direction... this is the future sound of nucastle.
