Shouldn't have any problem getting the 'chairman's vote of confidence' if the manager's not doing too well
It gets even better: Niall Quinn is set to appoint himself as the Black Cats' new manager after failing to convince Martin O'Neill or Sam Allardyce to take the plunge. He will bring Peter Reid in as his number two. (Various)
this threads been here well over 12 hours and only one comment from a sunderland fan, yous a touch embarassed?
nobody wants to trake the job so big nial reluctantly takes the jump . He will be top scorere for them this season as well !
Why is it such a supprise?!?! Quinn has said from the start that if he cant bring in the right man for the job then HE will do it until that person appears. Not just appoint anyone to quickly fill the position. Why appoint someone you aren't gonna be happy with? Just take control yourself - get some advice from someone with more experience...keep looking for the right guy, then step down when you find him. Remember Curbishley is available from October...... Laugh all you like - but you know it isn't as bad as you think
noooo. im not annoyed/dissapointed or dis-heartened, im glad quinny aint just stuck anyone in charge.
cos he will have had a nice summer's break then be gagging to get back into management. who knows tho - may never happen!
it aint happening. basically quinn just needs someone with a bit of experience to keep him right while we locate a new manager
i'd personally be over the moon reidy all bar one season done a fuckin cracking job for us, got us promoted. surely you geordies havent forgot the 2 x 1 - 2 seasons in which be finished 7th!! the quinny thing doesn't bother me at all! i have full confidence he'll do a good enough job until the right bloke comes around. and fucking anyway, all this "sunderland couldn't get a manager so..". Remind me which proven manager newcastle got this summer....? oh shit.....hold on they had to settle for glen roader
reidy was class, unfortuantly ppl only remember him for what he did towards the end of his time with us.
