MistaK is in the process of designing a flyer that I'm going to get printed on a large scale, for handing out outside of events in town and placing in bars. I'm probably going to look at getting some posters done for that as well. We've got a facebook page up now as well as a twitter feed, which have started to draw more traffic onto the site. About 25% of our traffic now comes from a combination of facebook/twitter, but not everyone following the page or twitter feed has signed onto the board, despite the improved integration with both (you can sign up to the site from facebook or twitter with a few clicks). Our twitter feed and nucastle page are linked to the site - anyone posting a thread in events, music, or podcasts will get corresponding links published via twitter/facebook. Long-term, I'm looking at more of a physical push for members, more flyers, more posters, possible sponsoring/endorsing of events (if we can work out the best way to go about it), and possible advertising in the local rags like the Chronicle and Metro. Facebook and twitter visibility is all well and good, but it doesn't do the business of pulling in new members on it's own. Up until now the biggest problem has been that I don't always have loads of money to throw at pushing the site, but thats about to change...
Are all the events in town added to the going out section these days? or have promoters given up with that?
what i like about new members is when the whole board comes together to just rinse the fuck out of them
