    my f$%&**g car...

    took it to garage today thinking it just needed the airflow filter changing........ oh no..


    head gasket has gone,

    radiator is cracked,

    battery is shit,

    cooling pipe has split, and a few minor other things...

    feel fucking sick, can't work till friday night now coz they need to keep the car till then to fix it. somebody please cher me up!:( :(

    VW passat.. just found out that the oil cooler seal has gone too.... thats £275 quid on its own! :eek:

    thats what i'm now thinking... but would just end up with same problems soon enough.... i do 50k + miles a year!

    Is it worth fixing mate cause all that work sounds like its gonna cost a fortune. Can you not buy a run about and do it yourself or know someone that might fix it for cheap?

    have tried... is a specialist part apparently, so vw garage actually gave me the cheapest quote!!!:mad: :mad:

    so if u do 50k miles a year...does it have 300k miles on it??

    You should always get a second opinion with this sort of thing or ask them to show you.

    im no mechanic but ive been told once a head gasket has gone...fixing it is only a temporary thing cos it wont last long after its gone once....my mate had his fixed and it went again 5month later

    No mate thats a load of crap, if the job is done properly the headgasket can last a very long time and if driven right it may never go again.
