MOHAWK - MY DEEPEST DARKEST SECRET (0ut on Monday!) Hi everyone, for anyone that missed my post the other week, I'm doing some last minute promotion of the track we have coming out on the mighty Subversive Records label on Monday (7th November). 'My Deepest Darkest Secret' by Mohawk is a big room electro house tune with progressive elements, that was produced by Newcastle based Mo Volans (one half of production duo Openair). Support so far has come from DJs across the board including Steve Lawler, Nic Fanciulli, Pete Tong, Stu Hirst, Moshic and Scott Bradford (Lexicon Avenue) to name but a few. The 12" released on Monday features the original mix and my own Paul Lancaster mix which is a more stripped down, techy version (with acid) for people that like things on a more minimal tip. To hear an exclusive 3 min Radio Edit of the track (that won't be featured on the 12") click on the link below: http://www.clubfragile.com/music/demos/mydeepestdarkestsecretradioedit.mp3 To find out more about all our other releases please visit www.clubfragile.com Cheers Paul Lancaster DJ / Producer / Label Manager Fragile Recordings www.clubfragile.com
Not completely, I still love it so that's why I'm licensing certain tracks out to labels that put out 12"s. Mind you, at the Amsterdam ADE last week, I was surprised how many big labels were talking about ditching vinyl and just putting out digital downloads and CDs in the future. Personally I think Fragile will continue as a digital download label with the occasional big release on vinyl too.
to be honest, as much as I love vinyl, I reckon that's probably the most sensible thing to do now, unless there's a big kickback against the whole download thing, it's all going to be like that in a few years time altough all the djs we've had at hooked have played more than 90% from vinyl and only really use the cdjs for unreleased material, and records that are too precious to put on a plane! I still don't really think the quality of mp3s is good enough to play out alongside wavs and vinyl - but that's another argument. But maybe that's just techno djs being dinosaurs ps - will drop some stuff off for you in the next week or so - you still at pne?
Yes mate, I'm still at PNE. I know what you mean about the sound quality of digital downloads - tho places like Beatport are starting to sell .wav files in the new year.
