    Metro Ticket Inspectors

What is the crack with these Men/Women?
I was on the Metro yesterday when the train stopped at Jesmond & an Army of Inspectors came on to do an Inspection, a few got caught without a ticket so got asked to step off the Train.
I seen 2 lads attempt to run away until they were Physically stopped & held against a wall!
Surely this cant be allowed? there Ticket Inspectors, not Transport/Travel Police or the actual 'Old Bill' themselves?
Then the lot of them surrounded these 2 lads until they'd issued the fine.
It was funny as an onlooker but couldn't help thinking they shouldn't have been allowed to sort of physically detain these guys for not paying for a Metro Ticket!
Does anyone know how much power these people have got? E.g. Allowec to arrest etc....?
Id love to see it happen on the otherside of the route - Medowell, Percy Main etc.. I could image the kids there just standing taking the fine:lol:

Assault is assault even if it is on private land. If that was the case you could beat anyone to fuck as long as your on private land.............dont think so eh. They have employed St. James Security as Inspectors so now some are part time bouncers and the rest are full time retards :)

I was sitting at Byker Metro (no ticket) in the morning when I saw the metro pull up at the other side with a load of inspectors. As I got up to walk off I saw some ordinary looking bloke try to leg it and one of them grabbed a hold of his rucksack. I had to fuck off down to Morrisons for change and by the time I got back the police were there giving him a search and issued him some sort of penalty fine of their own.

The other week they were standing at the turnstyles and I tried to walk past (no ticket), the inspector told me not to try and be a "clever shite". It's not as if I'm going to offer myself on a plate, if he wants me he'll have to put some effort in first, patronising wanker.

As long as it's reasonable force, and from the original post it doesn't sound unreasonable, it's not assault.

I was travelling to Cullercoates and I had an all zone network pass, me and my friend got up and as we got off the train to leave the Police officer told us to stop along with 3 other passengers 'apparently' we saw the police and got off the train very fast which made us look suspicious

I don't see the problem. Should they of just let them go without paying?
If they had stolen something from a shop the security would stop them using reasonable force.

If they dont restrain some people, then surely you could just walk away and pretend you cant hear a word that comes out of their mouth.

then walk all the way to where you are going , without being stopped.

    which would be silly :p

I used to get the metro in to Newcastle from Percy Main regularly from work when i was docked. I always felt really strange buying a ticket and could sense everyone around me wondering what the fuck i was doing at that big metal box thing with the coin slots

The lack of barriers on the toon metro are a joke ..... theres little incentive to buy a ticket if your feeling cheeky ;)

.... if you get caught (i did when i was 15) then you should just pay up - Why anyone feels the need to object to things like this is beyond me. Do people feel like the world owes them an easy life or something?!

Taking a chance is fun tho - I do it occasionally darn sarf when i know the stations im getting off on have no barriers and i cant be bothered to hand over a tenner for a 20 minute journey ;)

When I used to get it from Sunderland to Newcastle I always paid! I would rather pay £2.20 than be embarrassed getting caught.

Yeah me too it always seems to be proper skinbackers who get caught aswell, leading me to believe that the people on here who are saying "fuck paying" are pikey skinbackers

Weren't you a regular on ultimatebuzz?

I never pay as I don't find it remotely embarassing and have saved money over the years.

I got stitched last time, Strolled in 3 weeks to the Friday and they said the first day was inclusive or something brain warping like that, I didn't know what the fuck she was on about but either way she made me and some kid journey down to South Gosforth with half an hour to spare.
