No doubting he's a billliant producer, but how do you rate him as a dj? I've heard him play ok before, and pretty shit tbh. I hated his Bosh CD off mixmag aswell. I was having an argument with someone about him today, that's why I want other opinions. I don't hate him or anything, I just think some of the stuff he plays out isn't very good. Thoughts?

I dont rate him at all. The last few times he's played, hes been dull as dish water. He's made some awesome tunes tho and thats how he makes his sets imo

bollocks dan you talk an absolute load of cobblers

its not about trance fans not wanting change, most trance fans are able to tell the difference between a decent trancer and a shitty generic one.... trance has become stale because producers have accomplished all they can do within trance without it turning out like house and having lots of new ones, i.e. bassline house, electro house, scouse house, funky house, deep house... you get me? The true trance sound will never change and marco v being a bit dink is more to do with peoples own personal opinions, imo i find his "hard techy" style quite boring and hitty missy.

his production style is clean but again i find his minimal techy style v bland, like katana, another bland dj imo.

its the tried and tested route, it works and pulls in the punters time and time again, its what sells most of their records, your right it shudnt exaclty be that way

but should you really stop supporting something just because its hit a dead end? contrary to what you say theres 2 or 3 trance producers who push the boundaries

what i dont want is trance to start doing what house done with the rock-indie-house crossover pap, that would be a very sad day

It's not just about that though. Just because someone doesn't like him, doesn't mean they just love the big trance breakdowns! I like the techy sound aswell, but some of the shite he plays is just gash!
