Newcastle landlords are sly bastards, we've had to move out today and our new landlord said we could move into wor new house today too. He then told us that we couldn't move in til weds cos he'd decided to let the current tenants stay on - an extra two days after their contract

Consequently, I'm now homeless for the 7th time in 7 years - going for a record here! Is only til Weds tho. Can't fucking wait til I've got my home in Barbados...

To be fair, we're not supposed to be there til the 1st though, although the landlord did say we could get in beforehand. I'm enjoying being a vagrant again like :groovy:

Fucking arse candle of a landlord is trying to get us to pay more for the new house or he's gonna let other people move in! He's a turd. May be homeless for longer...

Landlord called me up at 10.30pm tonight and said we can't move in... I've already sent him txts explaining about benefit fraud... I feel much better. Goin2 try and sue his arse for this....

Has anyone had problems getting a deposit back from a Landlord?

Seems they try to scam most students out of them?

similar story with me. moved into a grotty student house in my 3rd year - it was minging. we cleaned it from top to toe - no thanks from the landlord. we did the same when we moved out - he still tried to rip us off for our months deposit.

so my slightly unhinged irish house mate crapped in the sink and fridge. a mighty amount too i can tell you. this was '97. it's been going on for years and always will do.

We only got £65 back from £100 each, £100 was used for 'cleaning' and a glass door - which I think was a bargain He was trying to get us on stuff that was wrong with the house before we moved in, like a cracked front door and the amazing psychadelic fucked wallpaper in the living room, but didnae succeed

Got voicemail from landlord that's just fucked us up the arse, saying that there's no need to go down legal paths Really gonna screw him right back!!!

I got charged ~£12 for a fire alarm battery needing replacing from my deposit... stingy bastards... plus they threatened to charge me to get my old flat cleaned even tho me and paula had cleaned it to a far better standard than when I first moved in... I always thought things like that were landlords reponsibility, not the tenants... especially as they had been useless all year... Northumbrian Estates are crap

What you expect the Landlord to clean up your filth? Why the fuck should he?!!

Its your responsibitly to clean you all your dirt and mess and anything other than "wear & tear" to the building or carpets should and normally will come out of your deposit.

Carpets should be as clean as they where when u step foot in the house, if its not they can charge for a prof clean out of deposit, im sure i fucking would.

Students ming and most today are fucking thick as fuck and cant even wipe their own arses.
