    KILLTHEDISCO in August....

    Kill The Disco in August

    Friday 10th August

Kill The Disco vs Out of the Gloom (Manchester)

    Pacific Bar

    7 - 1

To start off our mammoth weekend in style, we welcome our friends from Manchester to come and kick things off. Our residents made the journey to Out of the Gloom at the end of June to go and spin some records at their party, and after having such a wicked time we thought it only fair that we should return the favour. Beginning May 2006 following numerous conversations with DJs about records in their collection that never get played out, Out of the Gloom embraces an eclectic music policy where anything really does go, with resident spinners Chris E, Electrix & Steph Holland joined weekly by an amalgam of guest DJs who embrace the 'no music policy / music policy' and enjoy playing records a little more down-tempo than they spin on a Friday or Saturday night. Expect techno DJs playing funk, hip hop DJs playing pop, house DJs playing reggae and anything in between.

    Saturday 11th August

Naked and Dusted present Kill The Disco

    Will Saul

(Simple // Aus Music // Systematic - London)

    Soul T ( Exquisite Music - Scotland)

    Paul Bradley

    Rouge (formely Area 2, Cornerhouse)

    10 - 3

    6 English Pounds

For our second instalment of our residency at Rouge and our main event of the weekend, we welcome Will Saul for his first foray into Teesside. Will Saul is the man behind Simple Records and Aus Music, two of the most forward thinking and popular labels in the house and techno scene right now. Simple Records' focuses on deep, futuristic house, techno and disco with flashes of soul that hark back to the early days of Detroit. As well as his own tracks, including 'Cliff' 'Mbira' and 'Pause', the constant evolution of the label now sees Phonique, Mike Monday, Jesse Rose (as Content), King Roc and Will's studio partner Tam Cooper joining the core roster. Will has commissioned remixes from Phonique, Mathew Jonson, Jeff Samuel, Argy, Spirit Catcher, Sebo K, Isolee, Konrad Black, Jimpster & Exercise One. Will's new project, Aus Music aims to explore the more organic side of house, techno and downtempo, and with artists such My My, Sideshow, John Tejada and Prins Thomas all commissioned to either release or remix on the first four EP's, it is definitely a label to keep and eye out for. Will is a very in-demand DJ right now and has played all over the world in the past year, so you can imagine how buzzing we are to get him down at Kill The Disco!

Our other special guest for tonight is Soul T. Hailing from Poland but now relocated in bonny Scotland, Soul T is signed to incredibly hot Portugese label Exquisite Music, and in May 2007 his first EP album Puma Picture was released. Soul T started out making hip hop tracks that were used in a number of Polish films, but after discovering clubbing and electronic music he is now producing some fine deep house and techno, a perfect warm up from Will Saul. Support on the night for our guests comes in the shape of our loyal resident Paul Bradley.
