Ive got an unpopular suggestion! (it involves prog)

Now i realise prog wasnt pulling in as big crowds as trance does for Promise but i have a suggestion. Im sure il be shot down instantly for this by large numbers of you but here goes anyway. Instead of having the occasional prog dj along to do the warm-up set for a trance dj, why not set aside one week each month for an all prog night. It could be say the first Friday of each month for example. We can then stop booking prog djs for warm-ups and just have Richard warming up for the trance djs (as he does most weeks anyway).

The sort of djs im thinking should be booked are Seaman, Burridge, Richards, Pappa, Warren, Sasha, Digweed etc. My thinking behind this is that if there is only one prog night a month with fairly big names such as these, the club would be reasonably busy cos anyone who likes prog (yes, both of us ;) ) would all go this week for definite. At the same time attendances may also increase slightly for the 3 (or sometimes 4) trance nights each month because there is one less trance night to go to each month. The prog nights could obviously also be warmed up for by Richard.

So everyone wins. Most people have to admit there is always one or two Fridays each month that are less busy. So i think this would benefit the club and also keep proggy people happy without upsetting trancey types too much (i hope :) ). Personally i like both but do prefer prog. I hope my reasoning makes some sense at least cos im not sure ive explained it that well.

Don't know about you'se but I'd like to see a bit of Techno and Breaks thrown into the pot too for good measure. Dave Clarke or Plump DJ's would rip the place to shreds, or am I just alone on this one? :D

I think prog once a month is a good idea. There have been some all-prog nights in the last few months though so I don't think it's fair to say it is only being done for warm up.

Not too keen on breaks and techno personally, but each to their own. I would prefer something along the lines of Yoji Biomehanika or Captain Tinrib style - very hard trance/Nu NRG/acidy trance type sounds.

It's difficult to vary the music policy too much though as people generally like to know what they are getting and not everyone knows which DJ plays what style (I'm talking about the general public here not us clued up trainspotters!).
