Long story short...

The Newcastle United sporting club bought the Durham Wasps in 1995 played them out of Sunderland for a year, then moved the team to the Newcastle Arena, which for a year before had been home to the Newcastle Warriors, before and now back in Whitley as the Whitley Warriors. When the Superlague was formed in 1996 the name changed to the Newcastle Cobras, after two years as the Cobras the sporting club wne t belly up and the franchise was handed back to the superleague. Superleague decided to run the team themselves until they found a buyer and the Riverkings were formed, me being one of shareholders having a 10% stake in a franchise which is valued at £450,000. A buyer was eventually found it Jokerit a team in Finland, who changed the name to the Jester to incorporate there image. They had a joint ownership deal with the Eye Group, owners of the Eurosport TV channel, everything went belly up, and I am now trying to get a team back on the ice for next season, but in the league below the BNL.

Ice hockey

I used to play for all Whitley Juniuor teams,Arrows,mohawks,tomahawks,and braves,but quit when i was about 16,I started playing when i was 8.My dad was chairman for the warriors and had a succesfull rain while he was on the committe board,HIs names mick bone if you know him.He took the warriors to the arena,bringing big names to the side that done well in the ingerrual season at the arena,before sir john hall stuck his hands in his pocket fucking up the whole of the Uk hockey leagues by introducing the superleague.That was a major blow to all hockey clubs.if you want a me to have a word wiv me dad he is a very clever man and might be able to help you get a team together for next season,and he still is a as mad about hockey.let me know
