    Healthy eating?

I'm trying to eat healthy now and I've started my old exercise routine again, but I'm clueless about which kinds of foods should be eaten in whatever proportion.

I think I have a decent understanding of what's good and what's bad, but I've read/heard loads about eating a certain percentage of carbs/protein etc to balance a diet accordingly. I aim to be a lot fitter for September and was wondering if someone could shed some light on the whole % thing.

Looking for info online seems to bring up a million articles about either packing on muscle like the hulk, or losing weight cos you're a 40 stone fat cunt. I just want some basic info about proportions and why they're advised.

    Cheers,

    Mr Motivator

Depends but Weightwatchers points system is the best ive ever used for losing weight. Ive lost a stone in month, but thats with plenty of exercise. I'm not a member or go to classes or owt but my lass has done it before and she has all the books etc also got an app on me iphone what works out the points in stuff

dont turn gay and start monitoring your food too much, thats just sick.

do enough exercise and you can eat plenty of shit and get away with it, its booze that is the killer for you lot.. mega calories and bloating!

you cant beat tuna on a baked tattie and pasta and chicken add oats for breakie and yr sorted BUT its all pointless if you then go out and down ten pints on a weekend

I don't need to lose weight, I just want to eat food that is more healthy so i feel healthier. I can get away with eating shit and not have any negative effects other than feeling bad.. I don't seem to put on weight somehow. Been drinking loads of water this week, and eating combinations of pasta/tuna/bacon/ham sarneys/Quorn products and microwave vegetables/fruit. I feel better but I'm also starting my old exercise program again with the intention of bulking up a bit (not too much as i'm gonna be climbing a lot from September onwards).

Was just wondering if the Protein/Carbs/Fat intake needs to be adjested appropriately. A few plans that i've read recommend about 10% fat, and either equal carbs/protein or up to a 55% carb 35% protein.

The trouble I have is knowing what the fuck that translates to with everyday eating. I'm with u technofish I'm not willing to start measuring out every bit of food i eat and checking labels, but it would be useful to know what the difference between each type of plan is.

As an example meal, would you say tuna, pasta, vegetables? But with more tuna than pasta?

Unless you do alot of cardio then alot of carbs is a bad idea because carbs turn nto fat if you dont work them off.I havent seen you for a few year but you were skinny last time i saw you so I assume nowts changed, just get pelnty high protein foods and you'll be sound mate

if you want to dramatically "feel healthier" as you say completely cut out ALL DAIRY PRODUCTS AND BREAD. In two weeks you will feel completely different. The human adult body isnt made to digest cows milk or infact any type of milk it does our guts no good at all and the yeast in bread makes you feel bloated and "heavy".

Apart from this its common sense? Pastas, tatties and fish are all good and u will feel much cleaner... its not rocket science so i am a little confused to why you are looking at it like a project

ps. you dont have to eat any "high protien foods" unless your trying to size up. I dont eat any protein at all unless i am training. meat unless its fish isnt that brilliant for you and if its a "healthier you" that your looking for you cant get better than eating salads and pastas and oats and their not high in protein

I have been eating healthier for a couple of weeks now. I have noticed a huge difference when I play football and go running, as I seem to have alot more agility, awareness, stamina and overall energy since changing my diet.

I started eating breakfast, usually scrambled egg or museli.
For all other meals I eat chicken breasts, baked salmon or tuna with a selection of vegtables boiled or baked potatoes as well as 2 to 3 protein shakes a day (depends if I am training that day).
I also stopped putting sugar into my tea and coffee and now eat fruit as a snack.

This has worked really well for me but may have little or no affect for other people.

cut out all processed and heavily artificially flavoured foods.

you'll feel miles better. All the shit they put in food today is basically poisoning us. No wonder everyone is ill these days.

Eat like nature intended you to.

I'd like to say at this stage of course that alcohol is completely exempt from this, and of course any food eaten while intoxicated ;)
