    I dont feel sorry for him one bit, but I know where you are coming from.

    Iranians, Iraqi's etc are all brought up to hate us, so they know no different do they. Unfortunately thats just the way it is and it is never going to change!

    My brothers girlfriend is half Iranian and her father was brought up to hate the Americans/British, he moved to England to become a doctor and was lucky enough not to be brainwashed into hating us. He still gets a lot of stick though just because he is from there. Its sad really! How much we stereotype people :(

    You cant really use that though can you! If someone is abused in childhood it happens behind closed doors and only the abused and the abuser know about it, these people have hate all around them from the day they are born, everywhere they go, from school, home, the local shop, hate for us is all around them and it is hammered into them from day one

    To be fair if an army invaded my country, stole all my countries oil then started parading round the streets that I had grew up in brandashing guns then I would also bring my children up to hate those people.

    I can't feel sorry for the bloke cos I think he got what he was trying to give to others. As a liberal I think you should be able to do whatever you want if it doesn't hurt others but that doesn't apply to him cos he did.
    however it's true that we are the products of our society to a large extent and that if everyone around you says something is so, then it's very hard to stand up to the prevailing orthodoxy and say no. But the thing about him was he was surrounded by people who think blowing innocent people up is wrong. He wasn't living in Iraq he was here.
    I can understand someone being brainwashed into murder but I can't really feel sorry for him .

    It's nothing to do with genes, the Germans ordered the mass killing of millions, they tried to exterminate an entire race. I'm sure that everyone will agree that Germans these days aren't inherintly serial killers. I am absolutely certain that any white British person could have (somehow) been born in one of these "terrorist hotspots" (using that term loosely) and turned out exactly the same way.

    What this boils down to is the ideals implicated with being highly religious, amongst other things. If you seriously believe that there is an afterlife, to the degree that it actually governs your lifestyle then you have nothing to lose. Couple this with the fact that the people of these countries are being royally shafted by the West, in which we practically live lives of luxury while they are living in total poverty and generally invaded (as a religious whole) by our governments who are supposed to represent us; then along with cultural memes and the right type of person, you can see why they would go through with something like this (obviously with a total lack of regard for human life).

    In my opinion, the people that would be the most likely candidates if these extremists existed in our society would be the ones that would expect themselves to have the least in common. People who don't think outside the box and the racists who lap up all the sensationalized crap that gets spouted and feel passionately about a ridiculous cause. Throw in the thought that death pretty much doesn't exist and a genuine cause for hatred and hey presto! White British NF suicide bomber.
